Marist Basketball Final Results 🏀
Catholic College Sale has wrapped up the 2026 Marist Basketball Carnival in great style, with our Girls finishing 3rd and our Boys finishing 5th! 🙌
Both teams secured wins in their final matches against Cardijn College (SA). The Boys produced a strong all-round performance, with Max Cox, Will Burgiel, Jimmy Little and Marcus Proud all hitting double figures.
The Girls fought hard in a tight contest, pulling away in the final quarter. Lexi Doherty led with 16 points, while Brooke Kelly added 12 and finished as CCS’ top scorer for the week with 69 points.
A special congratulations to Brooke Kelly and Jimmy Little, who were both named in the Marist X teams — a well-deserved honour.
We thank Mr Josh Stubbe, Mr Rod Curtis, Ms Kelly Burgiel, Ms Molly Work and Mr Jamie Murphy for their tireless dedication to our teams this year. We would also like to thank all parents and family members who made the journey to Perth to support.
Well done to all involved — go CCS! 👏

On Saturday, we were delighted to welcome back our Class of 1971–76 for their 50-Year Reunion, bringing together St Patrick’s boys and former Sionettes to celebrate a truly special milestone.
Guided by current Principal, Mr Brett Van Berkel, the group toured the College, reminiscing on their school days, sharing cherished memories, and swapping plenty of funny stories along the way.
Many were quick to point out that the St Pat’s wing hasn’t changed much, bringing back plenty of nostalgia!

Congratulations to Year 10 student, Maddi Gilmor, who received the January Gippstar Award, recognising her achievements in clay target shooting! Competing in her first major carnival in Warrnambool, she won her grade in the Champion of Champions event and was named Best Junior in two others. Despite equipment challenges, Maddi showed strong resilience and was praised for her maturity and skill.
The January Junior Gippstar Award recipient is Maddison Gilmore (16) of Wurruk, recognised for her outstanding achievements in Clay Target Shooting. Maddi recently competed in her first major carnival—an annual three-day event in Warrnambool that attracted 177 competitors from across Australia. It was a highly competitive field, where every placing was hard earned. To her credit, Maddi won her grade in the Champion of Champions event and was named Best Junior in two other events, taking home a prestigious South West Zone sash, two medals, and a range of prizes. During the competition, Maddi faced equipment issues that threatened to disrupt her goal of shooting consistently. However, she remained composed and responded strongly, demonstrating impressive resilience. She was also praised by well-known athletes within the sport for her maturity, demeanour, and technique—an outstanding achievement for such an inexperienced athlete. Well done Maddi!
