Our Year 12 Earth and Environmental Science students recently visited InfraBuild at Rooty Hill for an insightful look at recycled steel manufacturing in action!

Students had the opportunity to see how steel is produced, learn about each step involved in the recycling of scrap metal, and explore how the industry is working to manage resources and reduce environmental impacts through multiple sustainability initiatives.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect concepts learnt in the classroom with real-world environmental management and sustainable resource use.

SMSHS 2026 Installations is an annual event, where Year 11 students create contemporary artworks within the school grounds. This year students where given the theme “Wianamatta” (Mother Creek, South Creek) and asked to use recycled or repurposed materials. Enjoy!

Year 12 Modern History students explored the impact of Na**sm through survivor testimony, museum artefacts and an in-depth seminar. History Extension students also experienced Dimensions in Testimony, using AI to interact with recorded survivor testimonies and consider how memory and history are preserved.
