At first glance, this might look like a simple cut-and-paste activity.

But this experience is helping children develop a wide range of skills they'll rely on when they start school.

As children listen, think, cut and place each character in the correct position, they're building:
✔ Fine motor strength and scissor skills
✔ Listening and comprehension skills
✔ Following multi-step instructions
✔ Spatial awareness and positional language
✔ Focus and attention to detail
✔ Problem-solving and critical thinking

Understanding concepts such as behind, beside, on top of and under supports early literacy, communication and classroom learning.

School readiness isn't a checklist.

It's a journey of developing the social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills children need to thrive.

Our Preschool Program supports children to build:
✔ Confidence
✔ Independence
✔ Communication skills
✔ Early literacy and numeracy
✔ Problem-solving abilities
✔ Positive relationships

Every activity, every conversation and every learning experience contributes to preparing children for a successful transition to school.

It might look like a colourful sensory invitation to play…

But beneath the surface, children are developing essential skills that support success at school and beyond.

As they scoop, pour, sort, create and explore, they're building:
✔ Fine motor strength
✔ Language and communication skills
✔ Creativity and imagination
✔ Problem-solving abilities
✔ Focus and concentration
✔ Confidence to explore new ideas

Sensory experiences encourage children to ask questions, make discoveries and learn through hands-on investigation... an important foundation for future learning.

School readiness can be developed through play. 🌿🍲

In our mud kitchen, preschoolers explored cooking with natural materials, using herbs, leaves, mud, and bark to create their own recipes, including winter soup, cookies, and rice dishes.

Through this hands-on play, children are developing:

✔️ Communication and vocabulary
✔️ Problem-solving
✔️ Collaboration
✔️ Numeracy and measurement

School readiness is about so much more than ABCs and 123s.

It's also about developing independence.

When children learn to make choices, manage their belongings, complete tasks and take responsibility, they build confidence in their own abilities.

These experiences help children:
✔ Become more self-sufficient
✔ Build resilience
✔ Develop confidence
✔ Strengthen problem-solving skills

We create opportunities every day for children to practise independence in a safe and supportive environment.

Before children learn to write words, they need to develop the strength, coordination and control to hold and use writing tools confidently.

Activities like drawing, tracing, colouring and mark-making help children build:
✔ Fine motor strength
✔ Hand-eye coordination
✔ Pencil control
✔ Concentration and persistence

These foundations make the transition to formal writing at school much smoother and more enjoyable.

Learning to read starts long before children open their first reader.

When children explore letters, sounds, words and storytelling, they are developing the foundations of literacy.

These experiences help children:
✔ Recognise letters and symbols
✔ Understand that print carries meaning
✔ Build vocabulary
✔ Develop confidence in communication

Strong literacy foundations help children enter school feeling capable, curious and ready to engage with learning.
