🪜 77 FLIGHTS. 16 MINUTES. WHAT A CHALLENGE! 💪

A huge shoutout to Fraser, who took on the Q1 Stair Challenge to raise money for LIVIN, a mental health charity. 💚

Fraser and his Dad tackled all 77 flights of stairs at Q1 in an incredible 16 minutes! Even better, Fraser raised just over $100 for this important cause. 🙌

We love seeing our students taking on big challenges, giving back to the community and pushing themselves to achieve something amazing.

Well done, Fraser! ⭐

Caring for Our Environment 🌱♻️

Year 4 have been learning about sustainability and our responsibility to care for God’s creation and our environment. As part of this learning, students have been collecting 10c recyclable containers to raise funds to start a St Francis Xavier Gardening Club. 🌿🌻

Last week, students ventured into the community to cash in their collection. We were incredibly lucky to have the kiosk opened up and had the opportunity to see how the recycling machine works and how containers are sorted for recycling. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience that helped students see how small actions can make a big difference.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Year 4 have already collected an amazing 750 containers! 🎉

Every can collected is helping to reduce waste, support recycling and bring us one step closer to creating our very own gardening club. We can’t wait to see what our budding environmentalists achieve next! 🌎💚🌱

What an incredible day for our Year 5 & 6 STEAM Excellence students!

Our students attended the NXTGN STEM LAB at the Students with Altitude Day, where they were inspired by some truly incredible people and experiences.

They had the amazing opportunity to hear from Katherine Bennell-Pegg, Australia’s first qualified astronaut and 2026 Australian of the Year, meet aviation experts, explore STEM careers and get hands-on with flight simulators and other exciting aviation experiences. They were also lucky to watch a bit of the Pacific Airshow as well

🌟Celebrating Tilly's Kindness and Determination 🌟

We are incredibly proud of Tilly, who is taking on the challenge of completing 100 skips every day throughout August to support children living with genetic diseases.

Tilly's motivation is especially close to her heart, as she is participating in honour of her friend Lottie, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

Through her determination, generosity and care for others, Tilly has already exceeded her original fundraising goal and continues to inspire those around her.

Tilly reminds us that no matter how young we are, we can all make a difference through kindness, courage and action.

🌟 Celebrating Mrs Craig – BCE Excellence Awards Finalist! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share that our Assistant Principal – Religious Education, Mrs Jen Craig, has been named a finalist in The ACU Award for Excellence in Strengthening Catholic Identity at the BCE Excellence Awards, being held tomorrow evening. 🏆✨

This recognition celebrates Mrs Craig’s dedication to strengthening the Catholic identity of our school and her commitment to nurturing faith, belonging and a strong sense of community across our St Francis Xavier community.

🎶🏆 Gold Coast Eisteddfod Success! 🏆🎶

A huge congratulations to our SFX Choir who recently competed in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod – Primary School Choir (Novice, Prep–Year 6) section.

We are so proud to share that our choir received a 🥇 Gold Award and were ranked 🥈 second in their section!

The adjudicator praised the choir’s strong tone, teamwork, engagement and storytelling, noting the wonderful personality they brought to their performance. What a fantastic achievement! 👏

A very special thank you to Mrs Sandstrom for her dedication, encouragement and passion for our choir. 💚💛

🏆 Celebrating Sporting Success! 🥋

We are thrilled to celebrate the recent achievements of two of our students who competed at the Queensland Jiu-Jitsu State Championships.

🥈 Hunter competed in the Under 9s Gi Division and proudly earned a silver medal, finishing as runner-up at the Queensland State Championships.

🥇 Addison competed at the championships and was crowned Queensland State Champion, taking home the gold medal in her division!

Both students have demonstrated incredible dedication, discipline, perseverance and resilience through their training, and we are so proud to see their hard work rewarded at such a high-level competition.

Congratulations, Hunter and Addison! What wonderful achievements. We love celebrating the many ways our students Let Their Light Shine, both inside and outside the classroom. 💚💛
