🌱 A big congratulations to our Educational Leader, Juanita, on completing the VELP Microcredential through QUT!
Her Research in Action project explored how embedded, everyday practices can deepen our team's understanding of sustainability across the centre. From the learning environment to the kitchen, Juanita has been leading by example and inspiring sustainable change every day. ♻️💚

The fruit scraps from morning tea are collected in bread bags from breakfast and handed to our Assistant Director, Laura, who homed our Henny Penny chicks.

♻️ Thinking sustainably in the everyday! Our breakfast toast trays are reused for some of our morning tea servings, reducing the need for extra single-use plastic items and minimising waste. 🌿💚

What could we reuse our tins for?

🗓 In one week, Juanita collected a full bag of single use plastics (food packaging) and dropped them in at Woolworths Rosanna to be recycled ♻️

We shared a heartfelt goodbye with two of our team, Dylan and Ashourina.

Dylan and Ashourina are venturing onto new paths of life and we wish them all the best!

They will still be around as part of our casual team for a while, so they won’t be too far away!

We have enjoyed wearing our jeans this week!

🌊🐥 K2 Water Play Adventure Inspired by Alexander’s Outing 🐥🌊

Our K2 children enjoyed a wonderful water exploration experience inspired by Pamela Allen’s beloved story Alexander’s Outing. After sharing the story together, the children engaged in hands-on learning through pouring, scooping, splashing, and floating activities using a variety of containers, natural materials, and toy ducks.

As they explored, the children investigated which objects would float or sink, observed how water moved, and recreated parts of Alexander’s journey through imaginative play. This engaging sensory experience encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and language development while introducing early science concepts in a meaningful way.

Through collaborative play, children strengthened their fine motor skills, creativity, and social connections, making learning both fun and memorable.

Today we say goodbye to one of our kinder teachers, Therese.

Therese has been at the centre since we opened and is extending her career as she progresses into a new role at one of our other locations.

We wish Therese all the very best.

It’s not goodbye, it’s see you again soon!!

📏 Kinder 2 Learning Spotlight: Measure Zone 📏
Our Kinder 2 children have been busy exploring the Measure Zone, where hands-on learning brings early maths concepts to life! 🌟
Through engaging activities, children investigated length, weight, height, capacity, and time using a range of measuring tools and materials. They compared objects, made predictions, estimated outcomes, and tested their ideas through play-based experiences.
These activities help develop important mathematical thinking skills while building confidence in using new vocabulary such as taller, shorter, heavier, lighter, full, empty, and longer. 🔍⚖️📐
By exploring measurement in meaningful ways, our children are strengthening their problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and understanding of the world around them.

Pyjama week!

Our favourite time of the year for all our educators and families as we get to come into the centre in our nice comfy pyjamas!

As much as it is pyjama day for the official celebration we celebrate this over the week to include all families and children and have inclusive practice.
