Woohoo go Elisha! 🎉

Today is Down syndrome awareness day!
In celebration, we asked our very own Elisha to share a little about herself:

"My name is Elisha Bramhall, I am 34 years old and have Down syndrome. I would like to share about what it is and the best parts of having down syndrome.
Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21 (that’s why we celebrate it on the 21st). Every person who is born with down syndrome is unique with their own strengths and personality.
My favourite things to do are horse riding, being an Aunty, photography, and hanging out with my friends. I also like to volunteer at Girl Guides as a leader, at the Art gallery and help at Allsorts clinic every second Wednesday.
The best opportunity that I have been given is being interviewed on the Radio station to talk about down syndrome day a couple years ago!
If you would like to spread awareness of Down syndrome day, wear blue, yellow or your funky socks and rock them out in style."

Some of you may remember this theme from last year, and we’re bringing it back for the next few weeks with even more fun filled Australian animal activities.
Our themes run in 6 week blocks throughout the year to keep therapy exciting and engaging. After such wonderful feedback from families last year, we’re thrilled to continue the tradition in 2026!

Join our tutoring team for Term 3! 🎉

Our tutoring service is looking for someone to join our team at LifeBearing Education!

If you are someone who is enthusiastic about supporting students to learn outside of the school environment, this job is for you. The role includes assisting with homework, preparing for exams and assignments and assisting with topics that may be difficult at school in a one-on-one environment. This position will work with primary and/ or secondary school students.

Our newest tutor will ideally meet the following:
- Available weekdays between 2pm-7pm
- Work available for minimum of 1 and up to 5 afternoons per week
- Current blue card (or willingness to apply)
- Demonstrates academic competence across multiple subject areas
- General understanding of school subjects
- Capabilities to teach Primary and Middle-School subjects
- Capabilities to teach Middle and High-School Maths and science preferred
but not necessary
- Patient, flexible, positive, dependable and cooperative

Position is casual ($37-$45 per hour), based in Rockhampton.

We are looking for someone to join our team and make a difference in the lives of children.

Are you someone who is enthusiastic about bringing learning to life for students in an outside-school environment? We are looking for a tutor to join our wonderful, small team in Rockhampton in July 2025. We are looking for someone who is comfortable assisting children with homework, preparing for exams and assignments and assisting with topics that they may be struggling with at school. We believe in making learning fun and engaging, so are looking for a tutor who is happy to make learning practical, interesting and build a relationship with children.

Ultimately, you will work directly with Secondary students (Grades 7-12) in a one-on-one environment, delivering in-person tutoring, to assist them in gaining a better understanding of concepts taught in the classroom.

Requirements and skills:
☀️Monday-Friday; within 2pm-7pm
☀️Approx 25 hours per week
☀️Current Blue card required (or willing to apply for one)
☀️Demonstrate academic competence in Mathematics and Science subjects
☀️Capabilities to teach higher level mathematics such as Math Methods and Specialist Mathematics
☀️General understanding of school subjects and Queensland Secondary-School requirements
