3 FOR ME 4/5 COTTULI
Yesterday afternoon we welcomed our 4/5 families to come and visit our Kitchen and Garden program. Families got see firsthand what this program is all about and to be actively involved in planting and cooking with their children. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.

Our next ‘3 for Me’ will be for every class on Thursday 28th August. As part of our Book Week celebration we are inviting ALL our families to come into our classrooms at the end of our school Costume Parade to share in some fun, interactive literacy activities. Information can be found in class Seesaw pages.

We are so lucky to have the Risdon Vale Neighbour Centre provide breakfast club on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings,
7:30am-8:30am.
Come see the lovey Hellen and enjoy a great start to the school morning.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings the school will provide basic cereal and toast from 8:30am-8:55am.

'3 FOR ME' KINDER VARVERIS AND PREP TOUBER
On Thursday (Prep) and Friday (Kinder) we welcomed families into our class for the last '3 for Me' sessions for term 2. Both classes enjoyed playing maths games with their loved ones and showing them all the numeracy skills they have been learning this term.
We will recommence our '3 for Me' sessions in term 3 with our grade 5 and 5/6 classes on Thursday August 6th. Details of these sessions will come out week one of the new term.

It's the perfect time to learn all about insects🐝🐛🐜

Here are some fun bug-related activities to try out this week:

🐞 Insect craft - use paper plates, paint or textas and pipe cleaners to create ladybugs, bees and beetles.

🪲 Bug hunt - head into the garden or to the park and see how many insects you can find and observe and then research to learn about them together.

🦋 Butterfly - try this fun activity to learn about a butterfly's life cycle - all you need is a blanket! greatstart.tas.gov.au/activities-at-home/becoming-a-butterfly/

🎵 Dance party - sing and dance to some insect-themed songs, like Shoo Fly, Incy Wincy Spider and The Ants Go Marching.

🐜 Insect snacks - not real ones! Try 'ants on a log' - celery with peanut or other nut butter and raisins on top, or a fruit skewer that looks like a caterpillar.

📚 Insect books - there are so many to choose from at your local library, why not go and see how many you can find and read together! Libraries Tasmania
