As a Garden City Ambassador for Melbourne, I’d love our city to be a place where anyone can get involved with greening. That’s why I’m excited to announce that City of Melbourne has made this easier than ever with the new Garden City Community Guidelines.
Designed to encourage community-led gardening in neighbourhoods outside the CBD, these guidelines outline your options for creating gardens in local streets – no permit needed! Discover everything you need to create gardens in nature strips, tree plots and pots and planters, with handy tips on plant selection, maintenance and accessibility.
Community-led gardening is a great way to bring beauty and biodiversity to your street. It’s also a great option for green thumbs with limited space at home for gardening – not to mention a chance to connect with nature and your neighbours.
