Today our yr 10 Historians had a wonderful afternoon of learning with Aboriginal educator/historian, and friend of the Centre- Barry. Their focus was the ‘Bus Ride’. An important aspect of Australian history. As an experienced educator and a knowledgeable historian Barry led an amazing workshop that allowed our young people to ask insightful questions and to deepen their understanding. We are very appreciative of Barry’s time not only today, but also in preparing his presentation.

Our Stage 3 HPGE class today focussed their learning on agroforestry. They utilised the higher order complex thinking verbs to consider advantages, disadvantages; created a table of the different types and then created an insitu investigation across the campus -tallying their data. They completed the day designing and presenting their own farm utilising different agroforestry techniques.

Our Stage 2 HPGE class undertook an industry immersion at Bilpin today. Connected to their learning about geography and agriculture in the Hawkesbury students explored Bilpin as a local agriculture and agri tourism township. They enjoyed the opportunity to learn in situ, and also the opportunity to taste test the local produce.

Congratulations to Adam, who last night won the Penrith-Blacktown Region Young Champion Award in the Outstanding Employee, Trainee Apprentice category. A well deserved award as he has tackled both a CertII in Ag and a School Based Apprenticeship in conjunction with his HSC. Well done Adam.
