We run fun early years literacy classes - we teach your child to read, write & spell with confidence!

How cute is this video from one of my students? ๐Ÿฅฐ Heโ€™s now in Prep but has been coming to Reading Club since he was 3 years old.

He is using these homemade puppets to play out scenes from our key pre-primary resource โ€“ โ€˜Miloโ€™s Birthday Surpriseโ€™.๐ŸตThis fun storybook ๐Ÿ“– introduces children to the sounds and letters of the alphabet, giving them the basics towards learning to read.

Sounds and letters are introduced systematically following the sequence of the Little Learners Love Literacy Groupยฎ program. What this video proves, is how our program works. Through the interesting story, characters are introduced who become mnemonics (a system for improving and assisting the memory) to read and spell. ๐Ÿ“š

Along with this video, Mum and Dad also shared with me, that when writing ๐Ÿ“, Mr. 5 still connects his sounds to his Milo Monkey friends (e.g. "w" Wilbur Whale โ€œwโ€). This is age appropriate โœ… and as his knowledge and confidence grows, he soon will be able to say goodbye to his Milo Monkey spelling aids.๐Ÿ‘ This guy is going leaps and bounds with his reading and writing at Prep, giving him headspace and confidence to focus on the social and systemic aspects of learning to be at school.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Iโ€™m so proud to have nurtured and fostered his early years literacy education. ๐Ÿ’— And of course thrilled to receive this super cute video clip! 09/05/2023

Why boys are falling behind at school 14/12/2022

Did you see this heart breaking article, Why boys are falling behind at school? ๐Ÿ’”

It doesnโ€™t have to be this way! ๐Ÿ˜ค There is scientific evidence which shows, if we systematically and explicitly teach our children (especially boys) literacy with phonemic instruction, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension they will develop strong literacy skills for life.

You can read more about this at our website. ๐Ÿค“

Or better still, secure your childโ€™s place at Reading Club for term 1, 2023. Places are filling fast so donโ€™t miss your chance to set your child on the evidence based path to success.

Why boys are falling behind at school The brain development of boys is different to girls โ€“ and the difference has an impact on their performance in the classroom.

Does your son need more time before he starts school? - Maggie Dent 07/12/2022

I have so many discussions, all throughout the year, but especially around now with parents making the challenging decision about whether to send their precious little person off to school next year โ€“ both boys and girls. For those of you in two minds, this article by Maggie Dent may help you make a decision either way. Although the article focuses on boys, we believe it is absolutely relevant to girls also.
