Our talented Stage 2 students Zulaa and Vincent participated in the HPGE Visual Arts Initiative from the NSW Department of Education - Emerging Arts Program 🎨 They spent Term 3 taking part in this wonderful program at Marie Bashir Public School under the guidance of Mr Howard Matthew!

Over the past 5 weeks, Zulaa and Vincent have been exploring self-portraiture = first through drawing, then bringing their portraits to life with paint. Their skills, confidence and enthusiasm have grown week on week, and it's been a joy to watch them shine.

We look forward to more students with a passion for art having the opportunity to join this fantastic initiative in future terms.

💙 Celebrating our amazing dads and father figures! 💙

This morning, came together to honour the incredible dads, grandads, uncles, and father figures who show up for our kids every single day. From the smiles to the laughs to the special breakfast moments - today was all about celebrating YOU! 🙌

A huge thank you to Weldon for catering such a fantastic spread and helping make the morning extra special ☕

To all our dads and father figures - thank you for your love, support, and everything you do. Today (and every day) is for you! 👏

Congratulations to the talented students representing Concord West Public School in the Nagoya, Japan Art Exchange competition! 🎨 Their artworks are now in the running to be featured in the Nagoya Exhibition in Japan, or the NSW Arts Unit (NSW Department of Education) online display later this year.

🐞 Edmund - "Ladybugs!", inspired by Eric Carle's "The Grouchy Ladybug";

🎨 Eren - "Geometric Pattern", a colour-wheel piece inspired by Kandinsky and the Bauhaus movement;

👩‍🎨 Naranzul - A realistic portrait of her art teacher, created after attending the Marie Bashir Art enrichment program;

🌸 Trisha - "Blossom Canopy", a stunning collage interpretation of a cherry blossom tree.

Each piece shows incredible creativity, skill and heart. Best of luck to our budding artists - we're so proud of you all! 🙌

🚦🏆 Road Safety Poster Competition - Round 2 Winners Announced! 🏆🚦

A big THANK YOU to everyone at who entered our Road Safety Poster Competition focusing on the important rule: "Push your bike or scooter on school walkways." We were thrilled by your creativity and commitment to road safety!

Last week, Stage 3 has spent getting muddy, brave and a little bit wild at Aussie Bush Camp! 🌲🏹

From building shelters out of sticks and fallen branches, to lining up their first shots at archery, damper twisted on sticks over an open fire, and orienteering through the bush - our students have been out of the classroom and into the elements, learning by doing.

Bush camp is where resilience, teamwork and independence really come to life. Watching students problem-solve a shelter design together and cheer each other on at the target range is exactly why we love this week on the calendar 🔥🎯

🪃 Traditional Tools & Technology Day at ! Our students had an incredible hands-on session learning about Aboriginal culture and traditional technology - from possum skin cloaks to tools crafted from natural materials, and even spotting the tiny creatures hiding in a huntsman's web! 🕸️

A huge thank you to Philip "Wildman" Green for sharing his knowledge and bringing history to life for our students. What an amazing way to learn about the oldest continuing culture on Earth 🖤💛❤️

Feel the vibes of the Athletics Carnival at CWPS! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ We asked our students who they're chasing down the track after… and the answers did not disappoint! From footy legends to their own classmates, our future champions have big dreams 🥇

🍵 This Wednesday, our TAP (The Anxiety Project) program welcomed the community together for a cuppa and a chat with Mr David Macfarlane.

Moments like these remind us what CWPS is really about - building a school where kids feel safe, connected and emotionally supported, not just academically challenged. Thank you to everyone who came along and shared the morning with us💚

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ Last week, CWPS Athletics Carnival was full of energy, cheers and plenty of fun! From the sprints to the sack races, our kids gave it their all and showed off some serious school spirit. Here's a little recap of the day 🎉

🎉 100 Days of Learning down! Our Kindy kids have grown, giggled and learned so much in their first 100 days at CWPS 💛 A huge shoutout to the wonderful parents who went above and beyond dressing their little ones for the occasion - your creativity (and patience!) did not go unnoticed.

Here's to the next 100 days of big milestones and even bigger smiles!
