Amazon are excited to announce the launch of the ANZ University DeepRacer Competition.

AWS DeepRacer is an autonomous 1/18th scale race car designed to test RL (Reinforcement Learning – a type of machine learning) models by racing on a physical track. Using cameras to view the track and a reinforcement model to control throttle and steering, the car shows how a model trained in a simulated environment can be transferred to the real-world.

Students of all skill levels can get on the track to compete in races online and in person worldwide while improving their machine learning skills!

Prizes include Kindles, Echos, Amazon gift cards and T-shirts.

Everyone will also get the chance to compete in the global AWS DeepRacer League and potentially win a trip to Las Vegas!

We will also be hosting an in person networking event in our Sydney office right after the final race, where you'll get the chance to meet AWS and Amazon Recruiters, Hiring Managers, Senior Leaders and Current Graduates to learn more about internships/graduate positions at Amazon.

Join us for some drinks and canapés whilst celebrating the winners of the AWS ANZ University DeepRacer League! The event will also be live streamed for those that cannot attend.
