Our Prep students have been loving their weekly music classes! They have been learning a range of songs, developing their ability to sing as a group and experiencing a wonderful sense of belonging through music.

They have also been enjoying simple rhymes while playing with elastics. This week, students explored fast and slow through movement and had the exciting opportunity to use Boomwhackers for the first time!

It has been wonderful to see our Prep students building confidence, creativity and a love of music through these engaging experiences.

Happy Father’s Day to all our Claremont dads! Today, we celebrate the wonderful dads, grandfathers and father figures who fill our children’s lives with love, encouragement, laughter and support.

Thank you to all the parents who generously gave their time to help with our Father’s Day Breakfast and Father’s Day Stall. Your support helped create such special moments for our students and families, and we are so grateful.

Wishing all the dads in our Claremont community a very happy Father’s Day. We hope you feel celebrated and appreciated today and always.

Our Stage 3 students embraced National Science Week with curiosity, creativity and plenty of hands-on science!

Year 5 and 6 students conducted experiments investigating the solubility of solids in liquids, exploring what happens when different substances dissolve. They also got hands-on with Oobleck and experimented with changing states of matter as they worked towards making their very own ice cream!

The scientific fun continued with the Science Week Quiz and the challenging Guess That Sound activity. Students took on the tricky sounds round, with guesses ranging from 3D printers and Pobblebonk frogs to lightsabers!

It was wonderful to see our Stage 3 students asking questions, making predictions, testing ideas and learning through investigation.

Our Year 3 students celebrated National Science Week by programming Dash robots to navigate a range of virtual and physical worlds.

Using the Dash robots, students had the freedom to experiment, test their ideas and develop their coding skills through hands-on challenges. Along the way, they strengthened their problem-solving, computational thinking, creativity and persistence.

These experiences give students the opportunity to learn through exploration, encouraging them to think critically, take risks and find solutions.

Our Year 2 students and parent volunteers have been hard at work today at our Native Garden Working Bee!
Together, they planted a beautiful selection of native plants, helping to create a welcoming space for local wildlife and students to enjoy. We were also very lucky to have one of our talented parents create two incredible bug houses for the garden.

Students have also been busy creating a ceramic artwork that will soon be featured in the garden.

A huge thank you to our wonderful parent volunteers for giving their time and helping bring our garden to life.

At Claremont College, we believe education is about developing the whole child.

Alongside strong academic foundations, our students develop valuable skills in social and emotional learning, positive behaviours, resilience, responsibility and respectful relationships. These skills help students become confident, caring and capable members of our community.

We also encourage our students to take pride in themselves and their school. Wearing their uniform with pride, presenting themselves well and representing Claremont positively are all important ways students demonstrate respect, responsibility and belonging.

From the learning spaces to the playground and beyond, we are helping our students develop the knowledge, character and confidence to become future-ready learners and responsible young people.

Our Year 2 students celebrated National Science Week by exploring the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef through immersive VR experiences and hands-on coding with Blue-Bot robots.

Students used VR headsets to discover the incredible marine life of the reef before programming their Blue-Bot robots to navigate a reef-themed course.

These engaging STEM experiences encouraged curiosity, critical thinking, coding and problem-solving skills, while bringing this year’s National Science Week theme, “Nurturing Science for All,” to life.

At Claremont College, we are inspiring curious, creative and future-ready learners through hands-on experiences that connect technology with the world around us.

Our Year 1 students are developing their coding skills through hands-on learning with Botzee!

Through engaging challenges and problem-solving activities, students are learning how to give instructions, sequence commands and think logically to make their robots move and respond.

Along the way, they are building important future-ready skills including computational thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, persistence and creativity.

Learning to code is more than telling a robot what to do. It’s about learning to think, test, adapt and try again!
