Today, our Year 3 and 4 students proudly showcased their learning at the Learning Festival.

Students shared a favourite Scripture song, presented their learning about entrepreneurs and persuasive texts in English, and showcased their Science "Business in a Box" projects and product advertisements.

There was a wonderful buzz of excitement as students reflected on their journey, from conducting market research and exploring sustainable materials to creating prototypes and developing products for sale. The festival provided an authentic opportunity to connect student learning with real-world experiences, highlighting creativity, innovation and future-focused thinking.

Thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support our students and celebrate their achievements.

What a fantastic night at our Let’s Glow Crazy School Disco!

The school was buzzing with excitement as students and families came together for an evening of dancing, singing, games and plenty of glow-in-the-dark fun. Our Year 6 students have been exploring War Horse through a rich assessment task that combined creative writing, literary analysis, and digital technology. Students were challenged to demonstrate their understanding of the novel while showcasing their creativity and critical thinking skills.

To personalise their learning, students selected from a range of task options. These included writing a heartfelt letter from a character, creating a missing scene that explored a major conflict, retelling an event from another character’s perspective, developing a case file investigating how war changed a character, or ranking and analysing the five most significant conflict moments in the novel and their impact on the story.

Through these tasks, students developed a deeper understanding of the novel's themes, characters, and conflicts while applying their knowledge in meaningful and engaging ways. It has been wonderful to see the creativity, insight, and effort students have put into their work.

Music is an important part of life at Claremont College, with students enjoying a wide range of opportunities to develop their musical talents and creativity.

As part of their classroom music program, students learn to play the recorder and ukulele, building fundamental skills in rhythm, melody, and performance. Beyond the classroom, students can further explore their musical interests through personal lessons with our talented music tutors, who offer instruction across a variety of instruments.

There are also many opportunities for students to participate in ensembles and bands, where they learn the value of teamwork, collaboration, and commitment as they create music together. These experiences help students build confidence, develop their skills, and experience the joy of performing as part of a group.

Whether learning their first notes or refining their musical abilities, every student has the opportunity to find their place in our vibrant music community.

Year 2 students have been learning Indonesian vocabulary about family members. To showcase their learning, they created their own family trees and labelled them using Indonesian words.

This engaging activity helped students build their language skills while making meaningful connections to their own families. Great work, Year 2!

Our Year 4 students have been revising their times tables using iPads. At Claremont College, technology is used to enhance learning by providing engaging and interactive ways for students to practise key skills and build fluency in mathematics.

A key benefit of this approach is the instant feedback students receive, which helps them quickly identify errors, make corrections, and strengthen their understanding in real time. This builds confidence, accuracy, and independence in their learning.

It’s great to see students so engaged and motivated as they take ownership of their progress and strengthen their multiplication skills.

Today, Maddie L, Sylvia C, Saskia F, Serena Y and Kristin K proudly celebrated the launch of their very own book alongside Claremont teachers Mrs Kesur and Mrs Speranza.

Held in the school hall, the special event marked the culmination of their hard work, creativity and collaboration. As part of the celebration, the students officially donated a copy of their book to the school library, where it can now be enjoyed by other students for years to come.

The girls spoke confidently to their audience about the inspiration behind their book. They then delighted students and staff by reading their story aloud, bringing their characters and ideas to life.

We are incredibly proud of th talented young writers for their dedication, teamwork and achievement. Congratulations on this wonderful accomplishment!

What an extraordinary day at Bush Kinder with our Preparatory students.

With perfect weather, a bus full of excited children, and the support of our wonderful parent volunteers, our Prep students enjoyed an unforgettable day of outdoor learning and discovery.

We began with an Acknowledgement of Country before immersing ourselves in free play in nature. Students climbed logs and wobbly trees, built pretend campfires, searched for leopard slugs and ladybugs, and even baked "hot chocolate muffins" in the mud kitchen!

Our adventure continued with a guided bush walk through Centennial Parklands to visit the Flying Fox colony. Walking quietly through the bushland, students were amazed to look up and see trees filled with bats hanging from them. We learnt that bats are the only mammals capable of true flight, and were thrilled to spot a few cheeky flying foxes awake and soaring overhead.

After returning to the Discovery Centre, we gathered for a group photo beneath the magnificent Fig Tree before creating nature-inspired artworks using materials collected during our walk. Students crafted caterpillars, dragonflies, butterflies, an octopus, and even a replica of Ibis Island, which we visited along the way.

Bush Kinder provides such valuable opportunities for children to connect with nature, develop curiosity, build resilience, and learn through play. What a fantastic day of exploration, creativity, and adventure!
