📚🎶 CBCA Children’s Book Week 2026 – Symphony of Stories 🎶📚

Our Book Week stage is ready, and the playroom has been filled with stories, music and wonderful characters waiting to come to life!

The children will explore a beautiful collection of books, revisit familiar favourites and discover some of this year’s shortlisted stories. Our musical instruments, character displays and imaginative small-world setup will encourage the children to retell stories, create their own adventures, experiment with sounds and bring their ideas to the stage.

Book Week is such a special opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and show children that every story has its own rhythm, characters and magic. I cannot wait to see where our Symphony of Stories takes us! 🐝💛

Why I am supporting Bravehearts💜
My reason for supporting Bravehearts Day is simple: children deserve to feel safe, listened to and protected. In family day care, child safety is not one activity or one week; it sits underneath everything we do. By speaking openly and respectfully about prevention, we can help break the silence and remind our community that protecting children is everyone's responsibility.

🔬🧪 National Science Week 2026 🧲🌱

Our little scientists are ready to explore! This year’s theme is “Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All,” celebrating the curiosity, questions and discoveries that help knowledge grow.

Our playroom has been transformed into a busy science laboratory filled with microscopes, test tubes, measuring equipment, safety glasses, magnets and plenty of opportunities to investigate. The children will experiment with magnetic force, construct with magnetic shapes, examine objects closely, measure, mix, make predictions and share what they notice.

We will also plant seeds and observe how they change over time, encouraging the children to wonder, ask questions and discover what living things need to grow.

Science does not need to be complicated—young children are already natural scientists. Every time they ask “Why?”, try something new or test an idea, they are learning how the world works. I cannot wait to see where their curiosity takes us this week! 🐝💛

💜 We have raised an amazing $280.84 for Bravehearts! 💜

Thanks to the wonderful support of our families, friends and community, we have already passed our original fundraising goal of $150!

Our Bravehearts Ditto fundraising board is now on display at Miss Bella’s Bizzy Bees, where the children and families can watch our total continue to grow.

🐝 Our Ever-Changing Learning Environment 🐝

One of my favourite things about our playroom is that it never stays the same for long! It changes and evolves alongside the children—their interests, our weekly learning themes and the different ways they use each space.

Over the past few months, our room has transformed from emergency services and imaginative café play to dinosaur discoveries, emotions and feelings, and now our busy dental surgery. Sometimes an entire area changes, while other times I simply move the furniture, introduce new resources or add something that extends an idea the children have already begun exploring.

Each new setup gives the children something exciting to discover when they arrive. Familiar resources remain available, while new invitations encourage them to investigate, create, talk, pretend, problem-solve and develop their own ideas.

It is much more than decorating a room—it is about creating a welcoming environment that keeps growing and changing with the children. I love watching each new setup come to life through their play! 🐝💛
