WEβRE LOOKING FOR SPONSORS! π
Our sponsorship program supports children and young people from rural Ethiopia to complete secondary school and progress to university. π
For many students, sponsorship isnβt βextra supportβ β itβs the difference between staying in education or dropping out.
Our students are completing Grade 12 and entering university at rates far higher than the national average.
The program has grown. Costs have risen.
β¨And our commitment is simple: no student drops out because we couldnβt sustain their support.
Weβre looking for new sponsors to help keep students in education and on track to finish what theyβve started β especially girls, who face the greatest barriers to staying in school.
If youβre looking to support education that is life-changing, this is it. β¨

ποΈ Project Update: Geneta Maryam π₯
We are currently busy constructing a new health clinic for this community and also repairing existing buildings - like this one!
In rural Ethiopia, many health clinics are unsuitable for treating patients, especially those that have been damaged through conflict, making it incredibly difficult for nurses and midwives to provide medical care.
At Geneta Maryam, we are repairing and upgrading the clinic so it can safely deliver primary health services to more than 7,000 people β including child & maternal health, vaccinations, first aid, and treatment for common illnesses.

Congratulations, Yasmina! ππ*
After finishing Grade 12 in 2022, Yasmina has now graduated with a Diploma in Accounting & Finance! π©πΎβπ»π
Yasmina lived at Carmanβs House during her final years of high school β our girlsβ hostel providing safe accommodation, meals and study support so vulnerable young women can finish school.
Now she has completed tertiary studies! With fewer than 5% of young women making it this far, itβs an incredible achievement!
We are so proud of you, Yasmina. π«ΆπΌ
Thank you π

β¨ One of our 2025 highlightsβ¦. the Larapinta Trek in July!! ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Thanks to our amazing team and supporters, we raised almost $40,000, which has already gone straight to work β keeping students in schools who otherwise would not be able to continue. ββββββββ

Still so grateful for every donor and every moment shared on the trail. π§‘π

π We are looking for sponsors! π
In rural Ethiopia, so many bright young people dream of continuing their education β but poverty often means they have to stop after primary school.
Through our Sponsorship Program, you can help change that. Your support covers essentials like school fees, uniforms, books, and living costs, giving students the chance to complete high school or attend university.
Sponsorship costs $840 per year β or just $70 a month β to help one young person continue their education and shape their own future. π
π Join us in creating lasting impact.

πβ¨ All 6 Boys Are Off to University! β¨πββββββββ
ββββββββ
The results are in for this yearβs graduates from our Boysβ Hostel!ββββββββ
ββββββββ
The hostel was established to support a small group of boys in rural Ethiopia as they completed their final year of school and prepared for the Grade 12 National Exam. ββββββββ
ββββββββ
Nationally, only 8.4% of students scored above 50% β the minimum required for university entry.ββββββββ
ββββββββ
From our Boysβ Hostel, 4 out of 6 reached that mark and have been accepted into university! The other two have been offered a place in the University Remedial Program, giving them the opportunity to improve their results and gain full admission in six months.ββββββββ
ββββββββ
That means all 6 are on their way to university β a wonderful achievement and a reflection of their effort, determination, and commitment to their education.ββββββββ
ββββββββ
π«Άπ½ Huge thanks to and for their ongoing commitment to creating opportunity for rural youth.

πͺπΉ In Ethiopiaβs Amhara region, families are still feeling the effects of prolonged conflict and deepening poverty. Many canβt afford even the most basic school supplies β pushing more children out of school every day.
Thanks to your incredible support, weβve distributed 30,000 notebooks and 10,000 pens to 7,500 students across the region, helping them stay in school and continue their education. βοΈπ
Weβre continuing to raise funds to reach even more students in need.

Hanna* has been part of our sponsorship program since 2017 β all the way back when she was in Grade 9!
Both of Hannaβs parents passed away when she was young, and her incredible sisters were essentially raising her (and themselves!). They were so close to dropping out of school. But with consistent sponsorship & determination, Hanna completed high school, earned a place at University, and is now in her final year studying a Bachelor of Nursing! π©πΎββοΈπ©Ί
We are so proud of Hanna and all she has achieved β a true example of how opportunity and support can change a life. We are deeply thankful to her sponsor for sticking with her over so many years. π§‘

Earlier this year we opened the Sarsena Comprehensive Health Post β a five-room facility bringing essential healthcare to a rural Ethiopian community of 13,000 people. π
β β β β β β β β β
With six full-time, female medical professionals on staff, the Health Post now offers maternal and child care, diagnostic services, treatment for common illnesses, and access to essential medicines. Itβs fully connected to power, clean water, and proper sanitation β a huge step forward for local health.

Early reports show high rates of malnutrition and malaria in this area β and now, finally, the care needed to tackle them.

ππΏ Day 2 on the Larapinta Trail πΏβ¨
We traversed the low-lying country around Ormiston Gorge, gradually making our way into the back reaches of the Finke River.
After a long, hot walk, some of us braved dived into the icy waters of Ormiston Gorge for a refreshing swim. ποΈπ¦
Today also brought our first glimpse of Mount Sonder, the peak we would be summiting the next day!! β°οΈβ¨
