These beautiful little lidded containers were made by Kimberley (), who has been coming to my classes for the last four terms. 👏🏻

Lidded containers are always a tricky project. There is a lot to think about when making the form and the lid that needs to sit neatly on the lip. It takes patience, practice, and a careful eye for detail.

She has really worked through each step and put so much care into these pieces. I have loved seeing her try different shapes, lids, k***s, and glaze combinations. Each little container has its own character, and together they look so beautiful. 🥰

I'm always so proud of every student who keeps building on their skills from term to term. These gorgeous little pieces are such a lovely reflection of Kimberley's hard work. ✨

Week 3 at the Pottery Escape studio, and the students have really gone up a notch. 👏

Our beginner students are focusing on centering the clay, lifting, and creating smaller bowls. 🍜 The intermediate and advanced students are taking the next step with plates, large bowls, salt pigs, and a few really large vases.

I am so happy with the work coming out of the studio this week. Everyone is building confidence and it is showing. 🥰

Sharing a little of my own ceramic work for Saltwater Community Centre’s 10th Anniversary 🤍 ()

I made just over 25 bowls for the celebration, with a quick 2-week turnaround from making to firing.

Each bowl was finished by hand, then given a slow bisque firing before glazing. It was quite the challenge, but I’m really happy with how they have turned out. 😀

The bowls will be on display tomorrow at Saltwater Community Centre as part of the anniversary celebration.

I’ll also have a market stall at the event, so come and say hello if you’re there 🙏

I’m highlighting this beautiful work from Sana this week 🤍

These lidded jars came together so well. They look lovely and the fit works just as it should.

I’m really grateful to have you in the class, Sana. It’s been such a pleasure watching your work develop week by week. There’s a lot of care in what you’re making and it really shows.

Term 2 classes start this week and I’m really looking forward to seeing what you make next.

So proud of your work. Keep going ✨

Glaze results from last term 🌈

The colours and textures really come through once everything is out of the kiln. It’s always a bit of a surprise seeing how they turn out.

Glazing itself is a slower part of the process. Thinking through colours, layering, and making small choices along the way.

A big thank you to everyone who booked into Term 2. It really means a lot 🤍

The waitlist for Term 3 is now open if you’d like to join us. 😊

Yesterday was pickup day 😊

A big congratulations to this group on everything they’ve created this term. It’s not always easy learning the wheel, but they’ve stuck with it and come such a long way.

You can really see the growth and confidence in these final pieces, and that’s something to be proud of 🤍

I love knowing these will now head home and become part of everyday life 🏡

Students have been spending time on the potter’s wheel, creating their own artwork and enjoying the process as they go. 🤍

These classes are a simple way to relax and have fun. After a long day, it’s nice to have a bit of me time in a space that feels social and welcoming. ✨

New term dates are now open, and there are just a few spots left. Tuesday has 3 and Thursday has 1 available at the moment.

Come along, join a socially inclusive class, and make your own pottery pieces to take home.

You can book on the website or message me if you’d like to grab a spot 😊

We’ve reached glaze week, the final stage of the term. 👏

Everyone is applying ceramic colour to their pieces before they go into the kiln for their glaze firing 🔥 at 1280 degrees. That heat transforms the surface and makes them fully sealed and ready to be used.

It’s a big moment after weeks on the wheel. I’ll share the finished results in a couple of weeks ✨

If you are interested in joining us next time, Term 2 bookings are now open and spots are filling quickly. There is 1 spot left on Monday, 3 spots on Tuesday and 1 spot on Thursday.

Book via the website (https://www.potteryescape.com/book-classes)

You can also message me here or email [email protected] if you’re interested in securing a spot.

Hope to see you there! 🤍
