A New Era for Aeromedical Care in Western Australia the Royal Flying Doctor Service WA has unveiled its newest aircraft, the Pilatus PC-12 Pro, marking the beginning of a major fleet modernisation program that will enhance aeromedical services across Western Australia. The new aircraft is one of three PC-12 PRO aircraft scheduled to join the RFDS WA fleet in 2026, forming the first stage of a broader upgrade that will see eight new aircraft introduced by 2030.

🚨SAFETY ALERT | HELICOPTER WATER-BOMBING🚨

Firefighting helicopters operate very low to the ground while filling, lifting off and departing. Getting too close — even for photos — is extremely dangerous.

📍 Statewide

Helicopters hover-fill from dams, rivers and lakes and may carry external buckets and cables.
Rotor wash can throw debris, knock people over, flip boats and pull loose items into rotors. Pilots have limited visibility in smoke and glare, and aircraft can move suddenly during lift-off.

⚠️ Stay well clear during filling, lift-off and departure. Obey exclusion zones and crew directions, keep children, pets, boats and vehicles away, secure loose items, and never approach or launch drones.
