For those people who have seen the Crossley run, here is a new way to see it with its covers off.

Today was a Crossley maintenance day. Engine covers off and inside we go. All to check internal lubrication while turning over on air. As expected all internal oilers were doing right thing. Finally run it up again because we can.

The Engine room has a new display. It represents the the original design of the electrical panels installed in 1904. The original design drawings were used as the reference. The first public display will be on February 22 when we open the doors for the opening of the new Midland Train Station

We are pleased to share this milestone with you and have curated an engaging program of events. Below, please find the event schedule: 8:30am - Registration for the first train commences at Guildford Station. 9:00am - The community event begins at Midland Station. 9:19am - Boarding for the first train at Guildford Station. 9:20am - Departure of the first train from Guildford Station. 9:24am - Arrival of the first train at the new Midland Station. 10:00am - The formal proceedings commence on stage, featuring a Welcome to Country and plaque unveiling ceremony. 1:00pm - Event conclusion. Following the train ride, you are cordially invited to join us for a complimentary family-friendly celebration to commemorate the opening of the new Midland Station, offering a range of activities including: METRONET information, a complimentary sausage sizzle, free ice cream, face painting, henna tattoos, an animal farm, market and community stalls, food trucks, and guided tours of the Midland Railway Workshops, accompanied by roaming entertainment. For those traveling by car, limited parking is available at Guildford Station's northern car park, accessible via Victoria Street. However, we recommend utilizig public transport whenever possible and planning your journey via the Transperth app or website. Regular passenger services on the Midland Line will resume after the first train ride on Sunday, February 22nd.

For those interested February 22 (Sunday) sees the new Midland train station opening . The Machinery Preservation Club will be open and running most displays including our steam traction engine. We will also unveil our newest display to the public.
