It was so nice to be in Bunbury today presenting a workshop on Samhain - the ancient Celtic festival from which we get modern-day Hallowe'en. We spoke about the history of the festival, superstitions, folklore and traditions. Many thanks to the South West Irish Community Group. Looking forward to the next workshop!

Ba mhór an ónóir é casadh le Ambasadóir na hÉireann chun na hAstráile, Fiona Flood, ar maidin. Labhraíomar faoin tionchar cultúrtha a bhaineann leis an nGaeilge, go háirithe thar lear, riachtanais na nGael anseo i Perth agus an tábhacht a bhaineann le maoiniú rialtais chun an Ghaeilge a neartú san Astráil. Mo mhíle buíochas leis an Claddagh Association a thug an deis dom teacht inniu. Táim dóchasach faoi thodhchaí na Gaeilge in Iarthar na hAstráile. Tá go leor le déanamh ach táim ag súil go mór leis.
It was an honour to meet the Irish Ambassador to Australia this morning. We spoke about the cultural influence of the Irish language, especially abroad, the needs of Gaeil here in Perth and the importance of government funding in strengthening the language in Australia. Many thanks to the for giving me the opportunity to attend today. I'm very hopeful about the future of Gaeilge in Western Australia. There's lots to do but I'm really looking forward to it 🤗🤗
