Our new winter menu consist of a 6 week rotation! 😋

We include the children's favourite requested meals, with a healthy twist of adding extra veggies and nutritious ingredients wherever we can! 🥕🥦

Wirrabirra follows the Munch & Move program, supporting healthy habbits and active lifestyle choices for children everyday!
Through this program we:
- Model and encourage healthy eating and physical activity
- Support the National Quality Standards and Early Years framework
- Provide healthy menus designed in line with state and national nutrition guidelines
- Create an environment that encourages children to stay active and enjoy nutritious foods while in care

We are currently enjoying week 4 of our rotation. 🍽

💜 In our Nursery Room, we have been learning all about colours! 💜

We have been enjoying reading colourful stories together, helping us explore and recognise different colours in fun and engaging ways. Our chosen colour this week is purple!

The children have been getting creative with purple painting experiences and exploring purple sensory trays, encouraging curiosity, creativity and hands on learning through play. 💜

🇮🇹 Week 4 of our adventures took us to beautiful Italy, the home of pizza and pasta! 🍕🍝

The children explored famous landmarks including the Colosseum and the leaning Tower of Pisa where they climbed an incredible 294 steps to the top! They also enjoyed a game of soccer and were lucky enough to make their very own pizza, spaghetti and meatballs. ⚽️

For afternoon tea, we tasted traditional Italian biscuits called Crostoli. They were absolutely delicious. 😋

What a fun filled week of exploring, learning and creating together. We can't wait for our next destination. 🛫

✨️ Our educators help make our centre feel like a home away from home. Sharing kindness, encouragement and care with every child they meet.

🍁 Autumn vibes are officially in the Schoolies room! 🍁
Our children went on an outdoor adventure exploring our garden and collecting beautiful pieces of nature. We are bringing the outside in to elevate our art experiences and add texture to our playdough creations.
Using natural materials helps children connect with nature, explore different textures and use their imaginations in a whole new way. We love watching their creativity come alive!

Following on from our previous post about our travels around the world, we have now travelled to LONDON! 🇬🇧

The children are having so much fun riding on the double decker bus, visiting Big Ben and the famous red phone boxes and enjoying visits to the London cafe's for tea and scones. 🫖☕️

We went for a visit to the palace for a royal high tea with the King and Queen, wearing beautiful crowns we made ourselves. 👑
The children enjoyed yummy scones with jam and cream as well as some mini cupcakes.

To finish off our exciting trip we watched the King's Guard's perform a changing of the guard and explored how they march.

We can't wait to share with you where we travel to next! 🛫

Our toddlers have been busy planting vegetable seeds and learning all about how plants grow! 🌱
The children reused egg cartons from our pretend shop as seedling trays, helping them learn about recycling and reusing materials in fun and meaningful ways. They carefully filled the cartons with soil, planted their seeds and talked about the importance of safety, including wearing gloves when handling the soil mix. 🪴

We can't wait to watch our seedlings grow and see what veggies we can harvest together! 🥕🌽

Adventure is calling! 🛫

Our little explorers in the kindy room have officially cleared security and are ready for take-off! For the next 10 weeks, we are embarking on a "Round The world" adventure, and we are kicking things off with two weeks right here in Australia! 🇦🇺

The children have been busy making their passports and packing their suitcases for our first stop. 💼 To celebrate the Aussie spirit, we have set up our very own beachside ice cream shop 🍦 and a sizzling BBQ for a true blue lunch. We will be finishing our local trip by pulling up our camp chairs to relax around the "fire", sharing our stories just like a real outback adventure. 🔥
