🍵 Sneak peak into last Sunday’s Chinese Tea Culture Workshop 🌿
Last Sunday afternoon, we gathered in the beautiful flower studio at Ping Ming Health Community in Midland for a special Chinese Tea Culture & Wellness Workshop.
Led by experienced tea culture specialist Fiona and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner Ping Wang - more than ten varieties of tea with different flavours and qualities were prepared and introduced. Fiona demonstrated tea brewing techniques and the different ways tea can be enjoyed and appreciated.
Dr Ping followed by explaining the traditional health properties of each tea and how different teas may be suited to different seasons, body constitutions, diets, emotional states, and stages of life. Participants gained a deeper understanding that tea is not simply “one tea for life,” but rather something that can be thoughtfully chosen according to a person’s changing needs and wellbeing.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for an inspiring and enjoyable afternoon, filled with learning, connection and beautiful tea. Follow our social media channels for more health and wellness events that may inspire and support your journey to better health✨
Our next workshop is acu-music therapy on 31st May. A great, affordable way to experience accupuncture in a calm supportive group environment. Book at www.pingminghealth.org/classes

🌼 Discover Chrysanthemum Tea 🌼
Chrysanthemum tea has been enjoyed for generations as part of traditional Chinese tea culture and is now becoming increasingly popular as a natural health tea. With its delicate floral aroma and gently bittersweet finish, it brews into a clear, pale golden infusion — perfect for warmer days.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, chrysanthemum tea is considered a “cooling” tea and is traditionally used to help refresh the mind and eyes, and support the body’s natural balance. It is often enjoyed by those experiencing symptoms such as body heat, irritated eyes or skin, restlessness, or dryness.

✨ TCM Seasonal Tip: Warming Foods for Cooler Weather
Dr Ping, a senior Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner, shares her thoughts on food as medicine and seasonal eating: Last weekend, I enjoyed a beautiful dinner with friends — and one dish stood out in particular: the lamb chops.
Not only were they tender and delicious, but they were also perfectly suited to the season.
As the weather in Australia begins to cool and we move toward a damp, chilly winter, it’s important to nourish the body with foods that help keep us warm and balanced. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this means choosing ingredients that can warm the body and dispel dampness, supporting overall comfort and wellbeing during the colder months.
🌿 Why lamb?
Lamb is considered a warming food in TCM. It helps to:
• Replenish yang energy
• Improve circulation
• Strengthen the body’s resistance to cold
It’s especially beneficial for those who tend to feel the cold easily, or experience cold hands and feet.
⚖️ A gentle reminder
As with all things in TCM, balance is key. If your body is experiencing excess “heat” — such as feeling overheated, red eyes, dry stools, dark urine, acid reflux, or shorter menstrual cycles — it’s best to enjoy lamb in moderation.
Eating with the seasons is a simple yet powerful way to support your health 🌱
