🎶Staff and senior students were delighted to welcome a string quintet from West Australian Symphony Orchestra this afternoon. The musicians reinforced student learning from music lessons and really entertained us with their huge variety of music pieces. 🎶 Thanks for organising this great experience, Mr McGeever.

National Simultaneous Storytime is an annual literacy event run by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) where students across Australia read the same picture book at the same moment.

Our Room 4 students participated in this event yesterday, marking the 26th year of the event, enjoying the reading on "Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller" written by former Australian football players Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd and illustrated by award-winning artist Jake A. Minton.

CliniKids June Autism Webinar: Registrations open!

In this free webinar, Lara Goldie, Senior Speech Pathologist at CliniKids, The Kids Research Institute Australia, will be in conversation with Mikali Kluver, Speech Pathologist at CliniKids, followed by questions.

CliniKids' quarterly online autism seminar series is designed to inform families, clinicians and educators about the latest autism research.

A huge thank you to all the dedicated Beckenham PS staff members who generously donated their time to prepare and set up, accompany students on the walk from Mills Park, or serve a delicious and healthy breakfast, generously paid for by a $250 gift card donated by Woolworths . We also appreciate all the families who supported today's event by sending in gold coin donations - all funds will be donated to our sister school, Chambak PS in Cambodia, through the Angkor Project. What a fun and healthy way to start the day!

Check out Room 4 and their reading buddies!

This week the Year 1's in Room 4 have been reading their library books to their "buddies". They had to show their "buddy" words that have some of the sounds they have been learning about in Letters as Sounds, as well as the pictures in the book. Our year 1's really enjoyed the activity and Mrs Kriegler was so pleased to hear how well they were decoding the words and reading more fluently. We are sure the "buddies" enjoyed it too! 😀📖

No vehicles are to come past our school gates – this includes down the school driveway or onto the school oval.

This can be dangerous to our students and school community with many walking and/or riding to school.

Please use designated parking spots and/or drop off areas.
