Lest we Forget

This week we have been out in the community discovering new learning and building new friendships. We were also invited to my daughter's early childhood education play session at her school, where play session was facilitated by the students in the class and the parents enjoyed a morning cuppa and slice. Overall we have had a great week with wonderful learning opportunities by all. Watch this space for more to come 😊

EXPLANATION - CENTRELINK WITHHOLDING

Those that receive a subsidy from Centrelink, will then be balanced at the end of the financial year when you lodge your tax return.

You can see the “Withholding” column in the letter notifying your % of subsidy from Centrelink.

For example:
If child A’s daycare fees is $100 per day and your income falls into the 50% subsidy bracket, it works out to be:
Entitled Childcare Subsidy: 100 x 50% = $50
5% withholding by Centrelink: $50 x 5% = $2.50
Which means, Centrelink is only going to pay the daycare $50-$2.50 = $47.50
Hence out of pocket is $52.50 (even though you’re on 50% bracket).

At the end of the financial year, depending on your final taxable income, Centrelink will balance the payment.
