The carcass of a juvenile humpback whale which died 3 weeks prior to this footage, at Ningaloo reef. It is amazing to see how quickly the co**se has been stripped almost clean by tiger sharks and all manner of other marine creatures over this time (mostly within the first 3 days!) and how the loss of this one beautiful creature has supported the entire ecosystem below in the circle of life.
We had the opportunity to join the Terra Australis crew (Disney+ Shipwreck Hunters Australia) on a livestreaming trip to Ningaloo reef off the NW coast of Western Australia to capture and livestream this and other amazing footage for the world.
This beautiful tropical paradise is home to many species of marine biology, and we were lucky enough to see a great selection over our 3 days of diving and two livestreams, including Humpback whales (both this carcass as well as many live adults and a very young newborn!), Manta rays, Loggerhead turtle, and various tropical fish species.
Unfortunately (and planned for next trip) we missed out on the majestic Whale sharks, and the Tiger sharks that we hoped to see... maybe next time!

Meet our team - Amy
"My passion for the marine world excelled in my early 20s as I was travelling, and I have been lucky enough to dive at incredible sites around the globe. I undertook my divemaster certification abroad to help educate locals on marine conservation while improving their dive skills. My scientific field is coral health and physiology, and I am currently studying a PhD at the University of Western Australia and the Australian Institute of Marine Science, investigating the benefits of fish-derived nutrients on reef corals.
I love everything CETO stands for and being able to share such a beautiful and alien world with others in an interactive way is so fun and rewarding."
Amy joins Team CETO as one of our divemasters, marine biology hosts and also helps manage our social media!

Meet our team - Alex
"My passion for the ocean started quite young so I jumped at the opportunity to become a diver, especially doing my advanced certification at the Abrolhos Islands off the coast of Geraldton. Ever since then I’ve loved the ocean and anything to do with it. I can’t wait to travel the world and to be blown away by what its oceans have to offer!
Doing my dive masters whilst working in a dive store in Perth was a great opportunity to develop my skills along with learning to service dive gear. This helped me get a real feel for the industry and all it has to offer. Being a diver we take what we see for granted so I feel so honoured to be a part of Connecting Eyes to Oceans and to be able to share what we experience with the world."
Alex joins Team CETO as one of our dive masters, and we are looking forward to joining her on more of our dives live on stream as we explore underwater sites off the Western Australian coast.

Meet our team - Arianna
"Following my love for the ocean, I learnt to dive as soon as I could back home in Italy over 15 years ago. Since that moment I knew I wanted to be a dive instructor and travel around the world. However, I realised that sharing my passion is not enough to protect the marine environment, so today, I find myself studying marine, wildlife biology and conservation, hoping to help a little more the ecosystem we care about."
Arianna joins Team CETO as one of our hosts, and we are looking forward to her sharing her knowledge of sea life & diving with us all live on stream as we explore underwater dive sites off the Western Australian coast.
