SCHOOL’S OUT FOR FIONA GILBERT
Last Friday, we had the privilege of celebrating Fiona's retirement and giving her the send-off she truly deserves.
Fiona's kindness, patience and dedication have touched so many lives over the years. Her exceptional teaching qualities, encouragement and genuine care for others have made a lasting impact on students and the wider community.
While we are excited for this new chapter in her life, she will be sorely missed by everyone who has had the pleasure of working and learning alongside her.
Now it's time for Fiona to swap lesson plans for travel plans as she hooks up the caravan and joins the ranks of the grey nomads. We wish her many wonderful adventures and a happy, healthy and fulfilling retirement, you've certainly earned it

BEST SCHOOL COMMUNITY- THANK YOU
Our P&C Lapathon was a huge success, with over $17,000 raised thanks to the generosity, and support of our amazing students, families, staff and community. Together, our students collectively ran the equivalent distance from Perth to Karratha an outstanding achievement. The funds raised will go towards exciting improvements for our school, including:
📍 New school signage
☕ A welcoming parent hub
📚 New reading books and literacy resources
A special icy-thank you to our incredible staff who bravely volunteered for a dunking. Thank you to everyone who donated, cheered from the sidelines, volunteered and helped make the day such a memorable event.

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK - moorditj koorliny
❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛❤️🖤💛❤️
This week, our school marked National Reconciliation Week.
Tuesday’s National Sorry Day assembly welcomed special guests Steven and Moira Jacobs. Steven’s Welcome to Country and heartfelt speech reminded us that healing begins with truth, listening, learning and showing respect for one another.
Also on Tuesday, children created hand symbols and planted them in our Welcome Garden at the front of the school as a meaningful symbol of unity, respect and caring for Boodja (Country).
On Wednesday, students and staff participated in a special smoking ceremony, recognising the importance of culture, connection and healing.
Together, we took time to reflect on the suffering experienced by the Stolen Generations and the importance of acknowledging the past as we continue to moorditj koorliny - walk forward together in reconciliation. ❤️🖤💛Thank you to Steven and Moira for your knowledge and sharing it with us.
❤️🖤💛 ❤️🖤💛

MORE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM DAY FUN
Check out more getting-in-touch-with-nature activities on Kardinya country. Yonga 11 children went out with clipboards and paper to do 'Nature Rubbing'. They looked for different textures in nature to create varied patterns. Kwenda 3 got creative with leaf printing and loose-parts mandalas using special leaves collected from their ECE garden, a beautiful mix of nature, art and hands-on learning. Love your work.
