I was lucky enough to attend Baker Boy without my epilepsy being a problem at any point. From my very first contact with the Box Office lead, through to Baker Boyโs conscientious lighting and stage crew, I was genuinely looked after. I was provided with a safe, low-light space to retreat to when needed โ a level of care I have never experienced before from an established artist, their team, or a festival organisation.
In all my years living with photosensitive epilepsy, I have never encountered such thoughtful, proactive access(ability) and outright kindness. Perth Festival and Baker Boy are setting a benchmark for what access rights can and should look like. You made it possible for us to be part of the musical communities we love and adore, that keep us alive and fuel our own being in this world.
in Perth was a festival in itself. His lyrical precision stands with the best in the industry, delivered through a multilingual repertoire with both power and elegance. His dancing and didgeridoo performance feel like activism drawn from the joy we seek, as a reminder of what magic music can do. Beyond the stage, he is a gracious, grounded and generous human. If you havenโt experienced him live, I implore you. What a night!!! I will forever hold deep gratitude to Perth Festival and Baker Boy. Indebted.

Progress but not finished yet. Will add depth and colour to foreground, and push back parts of the sky.
