Confined space work is high risk, and proper training can make all the difference.

Recently, the team at High Risk Training Academy had the opportunity to work alongside Georgiou Group on the Main Roads Reid Highway Interchanges Project, delivering RIIWHS202E-Enter and work in confined space and MSMWHS217- Gas test atmospheres training for a sewer pit entry scenario involving our new purpose-built Working at Heights, Confine Space and Gas Testing Trailer.

During the session, we covered critical questions every worker and PCBU should be asking:

✅ Do you know how to manage the risks associated with confined spaces?
✅ Are you aware of the hazards linked to confined space entry?
✅ When was the last time you physically tested and used your gas detector?
✅ Did you know a PCBU must not allow or direct a worker to enter a confined space unless a confined space entry permit has been issued?
✅ Have your emergency procedures actually been tested to ensure they work when needed?

Training is more than just ticking a box, it’s about using the processes and tools you already have in place and empowering your team through hands-on experience and practical understanding.

A big credit to Travis Stephens and Elise Keddie for helping put this together and supporting a strong safety culture on site.

Our purpose-built training trailer allows us to deliver realistic, on-site training tailored to your environment.
If you’d like us to come to your workplace and assist your team in understanding and applying your confined space procedures, give us a call on 0424 443 117 or email [email protected]

She’s finally here… and she’s an absolute standout! 👏👏

Introducing High Risk Training Academy's newest addition to our growing fleet, a purpose-built trailer designed to take our training to the next level.

After over a year of planning, designing, and refining every detail, we’ve created the ultimate mobile setup for delivering:
• Working at Heights – RIIWHS204E
• Confined Space Entry – RIIWHS202E
• Gas Testing – MSMWHS217

Last week, she completed her maiden voyage as we delivered training for the team at Alkimos Seawater Alliance, and the results were outstanding. A big thank you to the Alkimos Seawater Alliance team for having us out and being part of the first run with this new setup.

The trailer allowed us to seamlessly cover all key course requirements, including:
• Correct selection, fitting and use of harnesses
• Inspection and use of fall arrest and restraint systems
• Identification of anchor points and safe setup
• Hazard identification and risk assessment at heights
• Working safely on elevated structures
• Emergency procedures and basic rescue techniques

This trailer gives our clients a more realistic, efficient, and hands-on training experience, exactly what high-risk environments demand.

We couldn’t be prouder of how it’s come together… and this is just the beginning. 💪

This is one of the courses approved by WorkSafe WA, and it’s not a tick-and-flick or basic awareness PowerPoint.

Back into it for the New Year!
We kicked off the year on site with Densford Civil, delivering our combined Do***ng + Safe Lifting with Excavators course.

The CPCCLDG3001- Licence to perform do***ng component is a critical skill when operating and lifting with excavators. This course covers key elements including:
🔸 Rigging and lifting principles
🔸 Slinging techniques
🔸 Inspection of lifting gear
🔸 Directing the movement of loads when out of the operator’s view
🔸 Estimating load weights
🔸 Clear communication with plant operators

The SLELIC301- Conduct safe lifting with excavators course is the cherry on top of this combination, allowing operators to perfect these skills in the machines they work in every day.
Having this knowledge is essential to maintaining a safe and efficient worksite for everyone involved.

Well done to the Densford Civil team, and thank you for starting the year with High Risk Training Academy. We appreciate Marty Bertuleit for giving us the opportunity to come to your site to deliver this training.
