Toru Kumon did. It all began in 1954 when Toru

Kumon saw his son was falling behind in maths. Toru believed that the work of an educator is to foster a mindset for self-learning in children and so he began creating learning materials for his son, allowing him to work comfortably with the materials each day, steadily developing his skills. The Kumon Method is an individualised learning method. The starting point for each Kumon student is determined individually in order to match the material to the current ability of the child. The Kumon worksheets have been designed in a way that allows students to figure out how to solve problems on their own. If students continue to study at their own pace, they will catch up with their school grade level and eventually advance far beyond it. Through the Kumon Method we aim to foster sound, capable individuals who can succeed in achieving their goals in life.

Book Week is one of our favourite times of the year at Kumon Dianella! 📚✨

This month, our featured story is The Rainbow Fish! 🐠🌈

It’s a beautiful story for young learners, with wonderful lessons about sharing, friendship and kindness. Through the Rainbow Fish’s journey, children can learn that happiness is not just about what we have, but also about how we treat others and the joy that comes from sharing. 💙✨

We’ve absolutely loved seeing our students dress up for Book Week, and we can’t wait to share more of their amazing costumes! 📸🥰

We have some seriously little learners at Kumon Madeley (Kumon Madeley Education Centre re) and Kumon Dianella (Kumon Dianella Education Centre ) … and they are doing SO well! 🥹💙

Meet Jasper (), who is only 3 and a half years old, already showing us the power of routine and independence.

From getting himself ready for class, organising his folders, reading, doing Maths and packing everything away again, it is so special to see how much confidence can grow when little routines are practised again and again.

And Jasper is not the only one! We are so proud to have a growing group of Perth babies learning with us and becoming more confident, capable and independent every day. 🌟

At Kumon Dianella and Kumon Madeley, developing strong young learners is something we are incredibly passionate about.

We’re so excited to see our students bring a little extra imagination and fun into class this week. 🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️👑🐉

From favourite book characters to wonderfully creative costumes, we can’t wait to see what everyone has put together this year!
