Participants in our Koomba Girls program expanded their cooking (and teamwork) skills by learning how to make chicken noodle soup 🍲

Perfect for a healthy winter pick-me-up and to help keep those seasonal bugs at bay!

For more information about our Koomba Girls Program, please call the ERCWA on (08) 9440 0625.

Between hugs, shared memories and plenty of laughter, we celebrated the wonderful work of our volunteers at a special National Volunteer Week luncheon.

We were also spoilt with a delicious lunch, lovingly prepared by our Acting Community Services Manager, Wahida, and served by her dedicated staff.

Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the generosity, care and commitment of our volunteers - the people who help make our programs possible.

A special thank you to our retiring volunteers, Maria, Sabine, Br Andrew, Jim, Shahla and Sally, whose long-term commitment to ERCWA has touched many lives and strengthened our community. You will be missed.💞

Reconciliation Australia CEO, Karen Mundine, says this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, “All In,” reminds us that reconciliation is not a spectator sport.

It is a call for all Australians to step off the sidelines and commit to reconciliation every day through actions that create meaningful change.

As Karen says, “All In represents all of us, side by side, building relationships grounded in truth, trust and respect.”

This National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June), we are encouraged to be All In - in our workplaces, communities and everyday actions. Because reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

The campaign was created in collaboration with Carbon Creative, a First Nations-owned and operated marketing and creative agency.

The artwork for this campaign is by renowned Gumbaynggirr/Bundjalung artist Otis Hope Carey, who applied his distinctive style to create a colourful and optimistic visual representation of people from all walks of life being ‘all in’ to make change.

We were treated to a very special experience during our Staff & Volunteers Day when we visited Wheelchairs for Kids.

After a warm welcome and morning tea, we had the privilege of hearing from founder Brother Olly Pickett, who shared the behind-the-scenes story of this much-loved WA organisation and demonstrated how their adjustable wheelchairs are made to grow with children.

We then enjoyed a guided tour of the immaculate factory, where more than 250 dedicated regular volunteers manufacture, assemble and pack around 30 wheelchairs each day.

Thank you to the Wheelchairs for Kids team for hosting us and inspiring us with your incredible work. 💛
