TSH End of Financial Year Tax Appeal 26/05/2026

Grace has a critical window… but it won’t stay open for long.

Diagnosed with permanent hearing loss at just 6 weeks old, her hearing aids give her access to some sounds - but they can’t teach her what those sounds mean.

She has to learn how to hear.
How to listen and understand.
How to speak.

And that learning must happen now, while her brain can form the vital pathways for communication, connection and learning.

Without early support, that window begins to close.

This EOFY, you can help children like Grace make the most of their critical early developmental window.

Donate today 💙

TSH End of Financial Year Tax Appeal Support children with hearing loss and speech delays like Grace. Give generously and provide a future of possibility for children who need it most.

22/05/2026

Grace was born with permanent hearing loss and started wearing hearing aids at just six weeks old.

Her mum, Hayley, was worried and unsure what Grace’s future would look like.

While hearing aids help Grace access some sounds, she has to work extremely hard to understand what those sounds mean. Simply keeping up with the world around her is exhausting.

Grace also experiences a speech delay which has been an additional challenge for her, the progress for Grace feels like two steps forward and one step back.

Your support can change that.

By helping children like Grace access early support during this critical development window, you’re opening the door to a future full of possibility. Without it, the impact can sadly last a lifetime.

Help give a child their voice and make a tax-deductible donation today to our EOFY Appeal: https://fundraise.tsh.org.au/tsh-eofy-appeal

Thank you for your support 💙

Amazing mum Danielle is taking on the HBF Run for a Reason for TSH this Sunday, 24 May, to support children and families impacted by hearing loss - like her son Ezra 💙

Ezra has bilateral high-frequency sensorineural hearing loss and wears hearing aids to help him access more sounds. Like many children with this type of hearing loss, he can miss important speech sounds essential for early language development.

Our therapy groups can help children like Ezra make sense of the sounds they’re hearing and support them to develop early speech and language skills.

Danielle is running for Ezra, and for every family navigating hearing loss. We’re proud to be Danielle’s reason and thank her for her incredible support - we’re cheering her on every step of the way! 🙌

Her fundraising helps provide life changing services for children with hearing loss, empowering them to listen, speak, connect and thrive.

By supporting Danielle, you’ll be helping more children access the support they need through TSH.

Last week we hosted our annual Dad's Night 🌙 We loved welcoming over 20 dads and caregivers from our Talkabout playgroups, school programs and literacy support for a relaxed evening of connection, conversation and community 🙌🏻

A huge thank you to our guest speaker Dr Shane Glasson, who shared his inspiring journey of living with profound hearing loss. His message was a powerful reminder that early challenges don't define your future ✨

And of course a shout out to Matt for firing up the BBQ (and bringing some fun to the playground!)

We're so proud of the supportive community we continue to build together. Thanks to everyone who joined us and for your feedback - we look forward to the next one!

Let's talk about the Talkabout program (how fast can you say that?!)

From the age of 2 through to 6, the Talkabout program supports children on a life changing journey to build their communication skills and confidence.

Starting with playgroups and continuing through Kindy and Pre-Primary, children learn and grow with us over several years - giving them the best opportunity to thrive.

With small group settings and support from speech pathologists, occupational therapists and specialist educators, the program focuses on:

💬 Early speech and language skills
✍️ Pre-literacy foundations
😀 Social skills and confidence
🎒 School readiness through structured yet play-based learning

Talkabout is more than a language and communication program - it’s a pathway to helping children connect, learn and reach their full potential.

Support TSH Dad, Paul, as he runs for TSH in the 2026 HBF Run for a Reason on Sunday, 24 May! 🏃‍♂️

Paul’s son Ted joined us last year with early speech and language delays, and it’s been wonderful to see his confidence grow through our Talkabout Kindergarten program.

Ted is now joining sentences and chatting away - especially about his favourite topic: dinosaurs! 🦕🦖

As Paul puts it, “it’s been genuinely heartwarming to see that progress.” 💙

We’re incredibly proud to be part of Ted’s journey and honoured to be Paul’s reason for running as he takes on the 12km this year. Paul’s fundraising will help us continue supporting children and families across our programs 🙌

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them 🌅

Today, we pause to remember and honour all Australians and New Zealanders who have served our nations. We pay our deepest respects to their service, courage and sacrifice.

Lest we forget.

A special thank you to one of our TSH students for creating these beautiful poppies to commemorate Anzac Day. Mr Toe Beans loved placing them in the garden as a sign of remembrance ❤️
