Today we celebrated World Bee Day through hands-on play and exploration 🐝🌼

Our little learners explored bee hives made from pasta, pollen made from yellow sand, flowers, and lots of busy bees hard at work collecting pollen. Using their hand-eye coordination skills, the children carefully scooped the “pollen” onto spoons and filled the honeycomb sections, just like bees gathering pollen to make honey.

There was plenty of buzzing bee noises and imaginative play as the children worked together, creating their own little bee adventures while learning through sensory play 🐝🍯

🐞🔍 This morning our friends became little bug detectives.

Hidden amongst the mulch and little houses, were many bugs waiting to be discovered, but the challenge didn’t stop there… could our friends find the matching pairs? 🪵🐜

Through this playful learning experience, the children explored problem solving, observation skills, and early matching concepts while having so much fun searching and discovering together. Can you find them all? 🐛🪲

Not afraid of a little messy play! 🌊🫧

The children explored their senses and imagination with ducks and boats floating through the foamy sea. This was the aftermath of many tiny hands expressing joy through smiles, laughter, and creative play.

It was beautiful to watch the children create their own little play experiences and storylines as they navigated their boats, splashed through the foam, and brought their imaginations to life. 💙

We changed up our outdoor drawing table and transformed the entire table into one giant drawing pad instead of using paper on clipboards.

It was wonderful to see the children sharing ideas, talking about their drawings, and working collaboratively to create large meaningful artworks together. The experience encouraged creativity, communication, teamwork, and a real sense of connection as the children combined their ideas into shared masterpieces. 🎨✨

🌍 Earth Day at Our Service 🌱

This week, the children were engaged in a variety of meaningful, hands-on experiences as we celebrated Earth Day🌳

Through planting, water play, and exploring natural elements, the children investigated different textures and materials using their senses.

They expressed their creativity through painting and colouring, while also enjoying quiet moments reading stories about our world.

These play-based experiences supported the development of:

* Communication skills through shared conversations
* Exploration and curiosity about the environment
* Fine and gross motor coordination
* Sensory awareness and understanding of textures

The children showed great interest and enthusiasm, building their knowledge and connection to the world around them through play 🌿

It wouldn’t be Earth Day celebrations without watching something grow! 🌱🌏

We planted wheat in cups and were amazed at how fast it started to grow. The children loved checking in on their plants and noticing the changes each day.

We also gave our potatoes a fun new “hairdo” using chia seeds!
Watching the chia seeds soak up water and transform from tiny seeds into a gooey texture was fascinating—and a little bit strange to feel too!

So much curiosity, wonder, and hands-on learning as we explore how things grow 💚✨
