Everyone kept calling it a journey.

I can’t stand that word.

🍹 If I’m going on a journey, it blummin well better end on a tropical island with a cocktail in my hand... not in a chemo chair with a cocktail of drugs in my veins.

But that’s the word we were handed. And every time someone used it, I felt a little more invisible.

A little more alone.

Because here’s the thing nobody says out loud - it’s not just cancer. It’s not just FIFO. It’s not just new to a city with no family nearby.

Whatever your thing is - the word people use to describe your life probably isn’t the one you’d choose.

“If your words don’t come from the people who’ve lived it, they won’t reach the people who need it.”

You deserve better than that.
So do your kids.
So does your family.
