Some embroidered lettering for a burger costume is now up on the blog. 🍔 I’m really itching to do more embroidery now, it’s really fun! And yes, the idea was that the bun-in-the-oven was supposed to fill out the bin but it didn’t quite work out that way! @ Perth, Western Australia

🌿Have a great weekend! I’ll probably be hiding from the heat rather than literally exploring ☀️ Finally using one of my leafy photos I took a year ago.

This has been on my to do list since doing Pocket Design’s workshop back in October, finally completed over the Christmas break 🙌🏽 I also used the reference.

Just a sign for the little bit of office space the design team has claimed at work. I don’t talk about it much here, but I’m a user experience designer by day, and dabble in lettering and other creative things by night and weekend. It’s kind of nice to bring them together sometimes ✨ @ Perth, Western Australia

It’s been a good year! My focus for 2018 was on wellness, so lettering and calligraphy took a bit of a backseat (although they do play a big part in good mental health for me). Next year is going to be an interesting one with baby in the mix, so I’m glad I had this year to relax a bit 😊☀️

I had an intense but very exciting weekend doing a 2.5 day sign painting workshop with at the studio! 🖌

Although the letter forms aren’t too different to the calligraphy styles I’m used to, the techniques, brushes and enamel paint are quite different so came with a bit of a learning curve. Still a lot of room for improvement, and I was making tired dumb mistakes by the end (hence the unplanned grunge effects on my ampersand piece), but it makes such a difference being able to do a workshop in person 🙌🏽 @ Ink & Anchor

Bad news: this will be my last workshop for a while, so mayyy be your last chance.

The workshop that’s still available is Brush Basics on 28 November - 3 hours learning brush calligraphy from the ground up, using paintbrushes and ink. It’s a fun and versatile medium that you can really put your own spin on, and I love teaching it. Hope to see you there! @ Paper Mountain

Honestly I’m not sure if I’m improving exactly, but I’m embracing the wonkiness and the unexpected colours.
