Why does play-based learning matter? 🌱✨

Play is how children make sense of the world around them. Through play, children build confidence, develop language and communication skills, strengthen friendships, problem solve, express emotions and practise important life skills in meaningful ways.

One of the most valuable forms of play in early childhood is role play. Whether children are pretending to cook in the home corner, care for babies, work in a cafe, visit the doctor or become superheroes, they are learning so much more than just “playing”.

Role play supports:

🤍 Creativity and imagination
🤍 Confidence and independence
🤍 Turn taking and cooperation

At Wise, we intentionally create inviting role play spaces and learning environments that reflect children’s interests and encourage imagination, creativity and connection. Our educators join children in play, extend their thinking and support meaningful learning through everyday experiences 🌿

Our formal 2027 waitlist process starts very soon!

If you haven’t already, we highly recommend completing a waitlist form as soon as possible to join our waitlist for 2027. You can select your choice of any of our three locations in Carine, Duncraig and our new Dianella preschool ☺️

🗓 Friday 27th March – All waitlisted families will receive an email with further information

FAQs:

Q: I haven’t toured your preschools yet. Will there be a time to do that?
A: Yes! We’ll have Open Afternoons again in June – stay tuned to our socials for dates to be announced

Q: I am not sure if I have already submitted a waitlist form?
A: If you don’t get an email on Friday 27th March, please email us at [email protected] and we’ll check for you

Q: I am unsure about the days I selected on my waitlist form?
A: Email us with the days you’d like to waitlist for and we can edit on our end ☺️

Q: I am flexible with what preschool my child attends. Which location do I choose?
A: If you are open to numerous locations, please complete a form for your first preference location. Then in the comments section make a note that you are open to other locations (this certainly helps in being offered a placement as well!)

Introducing our KINDY ROOM Dianella ❤️

For children already attending school Kindy but needing additional care on other days, our program provides continuity in learning, routine and expectations — creating a seamless, familiar and engaging educational environment.

It’s also the perfect setting for children born July – October who just miss the school Kindy cut-off. Our Kindy program focuses on consolidating early literacy and numeracy skills, building confidence, strengthening independence, and supporting social development — all within a rich, play-based learning environment.

We believe school readiness isn’t about rushing childhood — it’s about nurturing capable, confident learners in the right environment. 🌿
