This term in Pre-Kindy, the children have been busy learning, creating and celebrating some very special occasions 🌷

In the lead-up to ANZAC Day, they explored themes of remembrance, courage and community through age-appropriate discussions, storytelling, crafts and poppy-themed activities. They also talked about how they can show kindness and respect to others.

More recently, the classroom has been filled with excitement as the children prepared special surprises for Mother’s Day. They created heartfelt crafts and thoughtful gifts, while sharing stories about the important people in their lives and why they are so special to them 💖

A fun new Friday tradition is underway 🎶

Nathan, our Head Boy, recently came up with a fun new way to bring a little extra joy to Friday afternoons. He’s been busy visiting each year group week by week, giving students the chance to pop their favourite song requests into the ‘music box’. Each Friday afternoon, 2 songs are randomly selected and played as a fun way to wrap up the week.

This afternoon, it’s the Year 1s turn, so keep an ear out near the admin office as we finish the week on a happy note! 🎵

Thanks Nathan for such a great initiative. We can’t wait to hear what songs are chosen each week.

Today, our Year 1 students had an unforgettable adventure at AQWA 🌊🐠

From exploring the touch pool to spotting sharks, stingrays and scuba divers, there was excitement around every corner! Students loved searching for their favourite sea creatures and discussing the different textures, patterns and features they noticed along the way. One of the highlights of the day was watching the turtle feeding up close 🐢

It was a day full of curiosity, discovery, hands-on learning and lots of smiles. The kids had so much fun exploring the wonders of the ocean together! 💙

Wellness Wednesday kicked off yesterday with our very first Hot Cocoa morning 🥛🍫

Kindy and Year 3 students had the chance to enjoy a warm hot cocoa before school in exchange for a gold coin donation to Lifelink. A simple way to start the day with connection and kindness 🤎🤎

Just a quick reminder that Hot Cocoa runs before school only (8:00–8:20am). Students won’t be able to access this during the school day.

We’re looking forward to welcoming PP and Year 4 next week.

This morning, our school community gathered together in prayer to celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima through a beautiful Rosary🌹🙏

Students and staff joined together in faith and reflection, taking time to honour Mary and pray for peace, kindness and our school community. It was a lovely opportunity to come together in prayer and strengthen our connection with one another and our faith. Thank you to the Year 4s for leading us 🙏🏻 💙

Mrs McLennan has already become a familiar face around the library with our students, and we’re so pleased to officially welcome her to the OLA community 📖💙

Last Friday, our Year 6 students took part in a meaningful Confirmation Retreat Day led by

Throughout the day, students explored the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and learned more about the lives and examples of Saints as they continue preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. It was a wonderful opportunity for reflection, faith and community, helping students deepen their understanding of this important step in their faith journey ✝️🕊

This week, our Year 5s visited WA Museum Boola Bardip to take part in the Design Thinking Through Objects program.

They began by learning about design thinking and the design process. Students were posed with a challenge to come up with fun and creative ways to improve some exhibits currently in the museum that seemed to be ‘missed’ by visitors.

After visiting the current displays, groups took on this challenge with creative minds, excellent communication and team work skills to develop new and improved displays.

All up it was a fun-filled and collaborative design day our Year 5s! A big thank you to the museum for having us and to our awesome parent volunteers 🤗
