Every 5 years The Kensington Primary School Parents’ and Citizens’ Association (P&C) holds a School Fete. The P&C is group of people that care about enriching the education and lives of young people at Kensington Primary School (KPS).

β˜€οΈπŸŽˆIt was amazing to have our local Kensington and surrounds community come together to celebrate 95 years at our wonderful little school.

Take a closer look at the 'brief history' of Kensington Primary, as appears in the Education Circulars 1926-1986.

It tells of student numbers fluctuating between 220 to 600 at its peak in 1948 before dropping off again in later years,
..of 'hat rooms' πŸ‘’ 🎩 being used as classrooms,
..of 😷 flu epidemics,
..and of open fireplaces πŸ”₯ being replaced by gas heaters in 1978! πŸ€“

It also shows the important role that the P&C play in improving the school - from the installation of electricity ⚑️ in 1927 and various playground & garden upgrades 🌳, to supplying books πŸ“š and sporting equipment πŸ€ 🏏!

Priceless items like this circular are laid out for display every five years at our school fete πŸŽͺ

We had a fantastic Memorabilia Display 🀩 at our 95th Anniversary last weekend!

The was a huge turnout on the day- our parent helpers welcoming many past and present students, teachers and friends to view this amazing display.

Featuring treasured photos & memorabilia, dating as far back as 1926!

..Thank you to our KPS Principal Ms Jones for volunteering for the !! πŸ’ͺ

Kids and adults alike donated their gold coins to see the epic moment of their School Principal being dunked with a πŸͺ£bucket of ICY COLD πŸ₯Ά πŸ’§ water!

All in the name of raising vital funds for our School!!

πŸ’ͺπŸ₯³πŸŽͺIt's been an EPIC weekend setting up, enjoying the festivities AND then packing everything down again at the so they must be more than a little tired starting their week!

What an amazing effort from the extended KPS community, supporters and friends of the school. The entertainers and performers were all amazing 🀩

It absolutely blew our minds with the love and generosity shown today to pull this off! You all deserve a pat in the back!!

We truly hope everyone had an amazing time making memories to last a lifetime! (If not, then at least last the five years til next fete🀣!)

There's also our wine & cheese πŸ§€ 🍷 gourmet tastings (don't forget to book- link in bio!) along with our famous Devonshire Tea and Cake🧁 🍰 stalls. There's also lollies, coffee, slushies and more!!

🚲 ...Or ride your bikes, the bike rack will be available for use however racks will be temporarily relocated near the front office, byo bike locks too. πŸ”
