Celebrating Contemporary Female Wind Composers at Winthrop Hall - 26 May, 7pm.

Tickets here: https://www.ticketswa.com/event/reimaginations

Our second conductor for the Wind Orchestra XX concert on 26 May is our Wind Orchestra Director Paul De Cinque. Paul is also Chair of Brass and Music Education here at the Con!

Paul will be conducting Cathy Likhuta’s 'Home Away from Home' here's what he had to say about this piece:

I am so excited to be conducting Cathy Likhuta’s Home Away from Home with Wind Orchestra this concert. Cathy is a Ukranian-Australian composer and 'Home Away from Home' is such a wonderfully energetic and vibrant work! There are so many fun melodic and rhythmic ideas in the piece, but my favourite moment is towards the end where it breaks out into a Ukranian style folk melody that is just so raw and exciting. I love Cathy’s music and I’m proud to be presenting the WA premiere of this fantastic work.

Get your tickets to XX at www.ticketswa.com (and don't forget it's completely free for High School and UWA Music students to attend - just email [email protected]!)
