And so we reach the end of the committee intro posts

I know I usually say something about each committee member but right now I have nothing to say

So if Pinky Pie was someone from WA….

And if I said Charlotte was the first person I met at the meetup (I met both Ellas in other locations despite meeting them first). I get the meetups can make you nervous, I never spoke to anyone for the first few meetups. And then one time Jelly (General committee Ella i know I’m a genius) was coming in late. I was on my lonesome, charging my phone in the corner etc. and these two people sit near me. One of them was Charlotte. I thought I was going to spend every single day in the illustration club relying on Jelly to be my only friend until I graduate, until Charlotte and I got talking about caffeine intake (just so you guys know 3 energy drinks a day is a normal amount to drink don’t let the rest of the committee tell you otherwise)

Charlotte has the most bubbly energy I’ve ever seen, even despite a rough year. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Charlotte without a smile. To me, she is what it is to step outside yourself and become more than a hermit condemned to solitary. So like,,,, talk to people at meetups for fun. Especially me i love making friends. And Charlotte is fun to hang out with. We can have multiple morals to the story idk.

Oh Mish….. you will always bw famous…. To me at least

I have to preface this by saying I’ve met Mish in person only twice, which compared to the rest of the committee is a minute amount of time spent together, especially since we barely talked during these encounters.

However I would in fact do anything for Mish. Met him one time for committee dinner and they almost immediately invite me to her vampire themed birthday. I think we connected really easily because we both love House M.D. (for the bit), and gothic themes, and any time we get talking to each other it feels like we’ve been best friends forever. I think that might be the Mish Experience.

I do currently hold a teeny tiny grudge against Mish bc i was promised goth cake twice and did not get any. It’s fine…. ig….. love u Mish…..

Absolutely criminal I haven’t done Zev’s committee intro yet (as well as everyone else’s but I’m on it guys i have free time today)

Zev had been a wonderful president last year (i wasn’t part of CIC when she was social media manager so i can’t attest to anything) and has continued to be so warm and loving of our wonderful club this year in the role of General Committee.

When you meet someone, and during your first conversations with them they recommend going to TAFE for cheaper haircuts and where to find job opportunities around campus, you kinda gotta attach yourself (lovingly) to her. Always finding convenient opportunities for CIC students to get into work around campus and getting into the community, Zev has been a cornerstone of CIC I know we will all miss dearly, even if we are happy she’s graduating.

So happy you’re graduating, Zev, but me personally I have a small selfish wish you have to stick around a little longer.

Ohhh how exciting!! MYTH10 Final Layout Submissions are open!!

This is the second submission as apart of MYTH10, and is the lined and coloured version of the roughs/scripts!! At this stand, nothing needs to be rendered or finished, so don’t fret!!

This submission is due JULY 12TH, so my lovely squidlings have well over 2 months to work on this!!

Will you design the next COZE cover?

We’ve been so excited to announce that the Curtin Illustrated Club is once again collaborating with Curtin Writers Club to produce the covers for the 10th edition of COZE!!

This year’s theme is energy, which surrounds us in different forms - interpretation is endless, long as you use the colour palette featured in the mood board!!

Submission are due SUNDAY, JULY 26TH!! Make sure to read the post for more details, we can’t wait to see what you guys create!!

Committee member of the day!!!! Yeah, we have 2 Ellas in our committee we’re cool like that

I first met Ella at the very first life drawing session last year. I honestly didn’t think we would continue to hang out, maybe a smile or a wave at most, but never someone to talk to. I think Ella is one of my best friends at uni now, we get lunch together after the meetup when we can and we’re even in a lecture together (I call it fate). You can easily find the both of us in the club’s discord because we just talk so so so much, I think the rest of the committee regrets letting us in, or at the club meetups where Ella is constantly making fun of me, or at the life drawing sessions where we bully each other.

She’s super kind and easy to get along with and is so welcoming to everyone, don’t let our friendship fool you. Ella also is so supportive of everyone and all their artistic endeavours which is why at least I love having her in the club and as a friend. Other highlights note the extensive emojis within the club discord, which includes, but is not limited to, the squid you see on all the committee intro posts.

So yeah nothings changed too much i think

I never really talked to Shin much before this year, other than when we were setting up life drawing. My first impression was that his first impression of me was not a good one. I thought he thought I was loud, obnoxious, etc. It didn’t take too long to stop myself from getting in my own head about myself though, because Shin is one of the funniest people who goes along with all my antics. I once suggested we play a country song in the middle of the life drawing playlist as a joke, and he only vetoed it because the model would not be prepared for it. We both suck at playing geoguessr and I’m forcing him to watch high school musical.

Other than that, Shin is undeniably a huge part of our committee who makes sure everything goes smoothly and it would not be the same without him. The first semester is only halfway through and I’ve already sold my soul to him???? Do you guys think I’ll be able to bargain off a drawing of hatsune miku????

Some things never change and that includes Sophia being the CIC secretary.

If none of you have talked to Sophia, please do, you could not regret it. They’re so energetic and always manages to bring a positive energy into every room. I spent last year hanging out with Sophia, sitting on benches and doing school work while we waited for life-drawing. Eventually we’d start slacking off (my fault sorry Sophia) and start talking about everything. But it always felt worth it, because she has one of those smiles that makes everything better. I hope you guys get to experience it for yourselves when you become friends with them

Wondering who your president is? Here she is!! Meet (or remeet) Ella, our 2026 club president and our 2025 social media manager!!!

I’ve only known Ella for like, a year and they’re one of the most dedicated, amazing people I’ve ever met. Genuinely one of the nicest people, so fun to talk to and hang out with while remaining amazingly professional. Ella greatly shaped my experience of the club last year, and we both hope you guys will feel the same way this year, and for years to come.
