Out and about exploring our local community!

Our nursery educators took our littlest adventurers on a pram walk through our neighborhood. Along the way, tiny hands were busy exploring natural textures—from pine cones to fluffy banksia blooms.

Excursions like these build strong community connections and ignite a natural sense of wonder from an early age.

Recently, our teams from across all Tribe Early Learning Centres came together for a collaborative professional development session focused on the KG Learning Approach 🤝

Each room reflected on their Term 2 Inquiry, celebrating the learning journeys that unfolded throughout the term. Together, teams created beautiful inquiry documentation that captured children's learning, experiences, voices, educator reflections, and the growth that emerged through our inquiry approach.

It was a valuable opportunity to collaborate, learn from one another, and continue strengthening our shared commitment to creating meaningful, child-led learning experiences for every child 📚

Birds, Nests & Nature: Exploring the World Around Us 🐦

The children’s growing interest in the birds visiting our outdoor yard inspired a beautiful nature-based learning experience. Using leaves, branches, pine cones and bird nests, the children explored the natural materials through all of their senses. They carefully placed birds in and out of their nests, discovered different textures, created sounds using sticks, and investigated each element with curiosity.

By following the children’s interests, this experience encouraged sensory exploration, imaginative play, fine motor development, and a deeper connection with the natural world. Through play, the children continue to build curiosity, wonder and respect for nature 🌿

As part of our Kindy School Holiday Program, the children explored clay and a range of clay tools as they set out to create something special for our Crazy Crabs Spiderman and Princess. 🦀✨

Each child approached the experience in their own way, using their imagination to create slides, homes, crabs, and other unique creations. Many revisited their work throughout the day, adding details, making changes, and developing their ideas as their ideas evolved.

Working with clay strengthens fine motor skills as children roll, squeeze, pinch, and shape the material, while also encouraging creativity, problem-solving, persistence, and self-expression through open-ended play. 🤍

“Look up! Listen! What can you find? What can you hear?”

These were some of the sounds of our Pre-Kindy children exploring the local bushland during our recent excursion, hoping in our van always leads to an adventure! The magic begins when the children’s feet hit the trail.

With bags in hand, the children became collectors and keen observers. They noticed the tiny details in the undergrowth, marvelled at the height of the trees, and pointed out the pink galahs resting above us.

These outings are so much more than a walk—they are spaces where friendships strengthen, confidence grows, and children direct their own learning journey through the environment.

Enjoy these snapshots of our morning!

Yesterday, our children enjoyed a wonderful cooking experience as they made their very own cookies from start to finish 🍪

From rolling and shaping the dough to choosing colourful decorations and creating unique designs, every child had the opportunity to let their imagination shine. Along the way, they strengthened their fine motor skills, practised following instructions, made independent choices and proudly shared their ideas with their friends.

The best part? Enjoying their delicious creations at afternoon tea or taking them home to share with their families. We loved seeing the pride on every child’s face as they admired what they had made 👩‍🍳

What happens when we view our neighborhood through the eyes of a child? ✨

Our tribe bus went on another adventure today, with a meaningful focus on supporting our children to tune into their surroundings and observe the moving parts of our local community.

To a toddler, an excavator at work, a passing bus, or a sudden rainbow over the water aren’t just everyday sights—they are moments of wonder and connection. When we support children to notice these details, we validate their curiosity and respect them as capable investigators of their world.

Our educators were right there alongside them - introducing part of our Toddler team Sam and Abbie! They were writing down what they were hearing. Be sure to check out the last two slides to see the beautiful canvas of their voices!

What things do your children love to look out for when you’re driving in the car together?

We're proud to have achieved Food Safety Plus Verification 🌟

This recognition reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards across every stage of food preparation, storage and service within our centre.

For families, it means confidence that the meals and snacks provided each day are supported by robust food safety practices, ongoing compliance processes and a team dedicated to children's wellbeing.

Because when it comes to nourishing growing minds and bodies, safety matters just as much as nutrition. 💚

Inside our Butler centre refresh 😍

Over the past few weeks, our Butler team has been busy redesigning our learning environments with new furniture, updated room layouts and thoughtfully curated experiences for children to explore.

From inviting play spaces to cosy reading corners and engaging learning areas, every environment has been carefully considered to support children's independence, curiosity and learning through play.

We are so proud of the transformation and can't wait to see the children continue making these spaces their own. 🤎
