We are for Reconciliation.
Our Koolark and Student Services teams arranged a meaningful activity for students and staff this week in support of Reconciliation Week. The activity prompted us to consider these questions as a collective – how does your team influence your wider community’s reconciliation journey? What actions will your group commit to to be 'All In' for reconciliation? By coming together to display their commitments, participants make a collective statement that reconciliation requires all of us. These statements formed a shared art installation, which is proudly on display in our Courtyard area.
For more than 30 years, Australians have officially marked National Reconciliation Week – a week bookended by the anniversaries of the 1967 referendum (27 May) and the Mabo decision (3 June).
Reconciliation has always been powered by a people’s movement led by First Nations peoples and supported by allies in communities across the country.
For decades, this movement has worked to deepen understanding of Australia’s true history and confront the ongoing impacts of injustice, inequality and exclusion.
It is hard, often exhausting work that requires strength and resilience, but it shows what is possible when we move forward together, led by First Nations voices.
This is what ‘All In’ represents: all of us, side by side, building relationships grounded in truth, trust and respect.
We urge all Australians to be 'All In' this National Reconciliation Week.

Heads up! From Monday 25 May to Friday 19 June, Transperth Transit Officers will be on the lookout for students doing the right thing at stations and on trains.
You might get a reward card if you:
· Show respect to others
· Stay safe on platforms and trains
· Help out other passengers
This program is about recognising students who make good choices and help keep themselves and others safe.
Transit Officers will also be providing feedback to your school throughout the campaign to help make sure everyone can get where they need to go safely.
If you get a card:
· Take it to the Cafe/Canteen
· Grab a free icy pole on us! It’s as simple as that!
So let’s see what you’ve got – we want to give away those icy poles. It’s our way of saying thanks for doing the right thing.
From PTA Educate and the team of dedicated Transit Officers – thanks for doing the right thing.

We’re on a roll and we’re undefeated! ⚽️🏆
Yesterday we hosted Mazenod College for the second match in the SSWA East Regional Pennants Senior Boys Soccer Tournament.
This was a highly anticipated game due to some very competitive matches over the years.
Sevenoaks started with fire in their bellies - potentially too much, giving away a penalty in the first half to go into the break 1-0 down. In the second half, students showed much more composure and discipline in their positioning which allowed them to create many scoring opportunities. Achnaff managed to get our first goal through some fantastic individual effort in a counter-attack. We battled it out at 1-1 right until the last 5 minutes, when Frank managed to put another goal away to give us some well needed relief, winning the game 2-1.
Our MVP for the match was Alex, who saved us on multiple occasions, doing a fantastic job as our centre-back.
A big shout-out to our fantastic Referee, Mr Hosany, who did an amazing job to ensure the game was played safely and fairly.
Well done to Coach Mcleay and Assistant Coach Ray for leading the boys to another win.
See you at Coker Park on Monday 8 June (Week 8) for our next home game of the tournament against Darling Range!

How do you investigate Newton’s second law (Force = mass x acceleration)? With remote controlled cars of course!
Year 11 Science in Practice students tested the time it took a remote controlled car to drive 10m on its own, and then with weights added. It may have been an assessment, but there was lots of fun to be had.
Let's just say some of those cars had a mind of their own!

Last week, three of our Guild members had the privilege to attend a Morning Tea at Ascot Racecourse hosted by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Col Blanch APM, for African Community Leaders and staff of the Western Australia Police Force
The event included Opening and Closing Prayers, music presentations and inspiring speeches. Keynote speaker, Ms Bellamore Ndayikeze, talked about her upbringing in a time of war while also experiencing domestic violence. She shared her journey to Australia as well as her struggles and achievements. Her talk was extremely emotional and inspirational, a real highlight for everyone in attendance.
Her presentation was followed by Commissioner Col Blanch APM, who addressed youth and leaders in the room, encouraging them to step forward and emphasized that leadership starts in the home.
Our students enjoyed the morning, engaging with the local police and community members, and of course hunting for good photo opportunities!
"It was an amazing experience to go to the WA Commissioner's African Morning Tea as a student. Seeing people from different African backgrounds come together made me feel proud of my heritage and more connected to my community. Hearing everyone's stories helped me see different perspectives and reminded me how important it is to support each other in our community." - Year 11 student, Josie A.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the recent on-field success of Year 12 student, Lebron Yarran, who continues to impress at the elite junior level.
Currently playing as a forward with the Swan Districts Football Club in the WAFL Colts (U19), Lebron delivered a standout performance on the weekend, kicking three goals to help secure the club’s first win of the 2026 season. As a member of the Swan Districts 2026 Class, his commitment, skill and work ethic are shining through week after week.
Lebron’s football journey began at the Belmont Junior Football Club, and it’s fantastic to see his development and dedication paying dividends at such a high level. He is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through perseverance, teamwork and passion for the game.
Adding to the excitement, Lebron recently took the time to meet Mr Middleton’s children, who were absolutely thrilled to meet a celebrity!
Congratulations, Lebron. The Sevenoaks community is extremely proud of you and looks forward to following your continued success both on and off the field.
