Week 1 went faster than a phone battery during a YouTube binge! 🪫

🖥️It has been a big week back- while other students got an extra sleep in 🛏️ the Stepping Stone students were back in class.

This week saw our students tackling complex and compound sentences in real-world situations, maths problems for days, and project planning for the master creations under construction.

👩‍🍳We have cooked up a storm for the students from gourmet butter chicken to bougie burgers- Delicious food was the only thing on our menu.

🚗But the best part of the week was kicking off our Keys4Life training with Mr Finnis in the driver's seat!! 🔑 The first session was working on the steps and stages involved with the Learner permit process- next week driving mats- vroom vroom! 🚩🚦

Minnawarra Community House will be running a new Teen Parenting Program, designed to support parents and caregivers navigating teenage years.
This welcoming 4-week series provides a safe and supportive space to:
* Build stronger connections with your teen.
* Learn practical communication strategies.
* Share experiences with other parents.
* Grow confidence in your parenting approach.

Wow is it that time already? Term 1 is done!!
Our Stepping Stones students have been busy with course work, Dismantle Bike Rescue, pathway planning with the Student Support Officers, and social and emotional learning with The Hub's very own Social Worker and Kevin from The Y WA.
The Hub team will return to work on the 20th April 2026, well rested and full of Easter goodies.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy break.

It is that time of year again - The City of Armadale have launched round two for their Community Grant applications - applications opened on the 9th March 2026 and closes on 20th April 2026.

If you are a local community group scan the QR code or contact the Community Development team- all the details are in the flyer.

Preparations and planning is well under way 🤩

The Hub will be chilling at Let's Chill!!
Happening on the 2nd of April at Memorial Park.

We will be there from 4pm to 6pm.

The Armadale Youth and Community Service Hub has been a hive of activity since returning from the school break.
2026 has seen our Stepping Stones program have another successful intake for Semester One and we kicked off community hampers at the end of January assisting some additional families.
Our team have been networking with our partners, and you may just see the Hub Staff around a few upcoming community events - we can't wait!
The team have been busy shifting workspaces in preparation for a productive year.
The Hub Social Worker has been working hard in the background on a program to roll out to our partner schools throughout this term - we will tell you more in the coming weeks. The team has been scuttling around with prep work for our Stepping Stones students - setting up programs for the semester and pathway preparation for our students so the support provided will reach far beyond their time at The Hub!
We are so excited for what 2026 has in store for us and we look forward to sharing!
