SERVICE PROVIDED:
I provide a unique service as a support worker with many therapy assistant skills, to families of children with developmental disorders/autism who plan- or self-manage their funding, where you bring your child to MY home (in Leeming) to work on their Activities of Daily Living and Social & Community Participation goals!!!

Advantages of this include 1) getting your child used to a different environment in preparation for school or the big wide world beyond, and
2) freeing up your own home and time for a bit of 'breathing space' (you are welcome to stay or go!).

I have an abundance of resources here for your child to use, enjoy and learn from. We can work on goals (structured or flexible programs) through play or other creative means to upskill in:
- Executive function
- Speech, language, communication, social skills
- Pre-reading&writing, reading&writing, mind-mapping, essay writing
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Sensory desensitisation
- ADLs such as cooking, cleaning, washing, bed-making
- behaviour and emotion regulation

I am also happy to work with your child on homework provided by their teacher or therapist.

HOURS AVAILABLE:
- 10am-2pm M, T, Th, Fri for 1hr to 4hr sessions (suited to 1-4 year olds, home-schooled and post-school age groups), and
- 3:30-5:30pm M, T, Th, Fri
for 1hr or 2hr sessions (for school and post-school age groups).

ABOUT ME:
I am a 49 year old Mum with three sons with HF/mild autism aged 25, 22 and 15 (and a nuerotypical daughter aged 23 who always appreciates a mention!), and hence have an absolute abundance of lived-experience!! My boys all have plan-managed NDIS plans with core, capital and capacity building funding.
I have worked as a therapy assistant with KZ Speech (6yrs p/t) and as a family support officer both at DDC WA and in volunteer roles over the years.
I have nearly completed second year university studies in both psychology and social work but, what can I say - life sometimes takes us on other paths!
My passion lies in supporting families - supporting you to support your child - and I will be delighted to pass on the things I've learned on this amazing (often worrying and exhausting, sometimes thrilling and completely rewarding) journey!

I have Police Clearance, WWC, ABN, (public liability insurance pending) and so forth and will provide you with an invoice at the end of each session.
