Sea of Hearts – All In
We have invited our children, families, and educators to come together during National Reconciliation Week to take part in the Sea of Hearts movement. By choosing a heart and adding it to our collage of hearts. Each heart represents a member of our community. Together, they form a shared collage that reflects this year’s theme “All In” - a reminder that reconciliation is something we all contribute to through care, respect and learning.

We’ve been enjoying the Aboriginal Dreamtime story “How the Birds Got Their Colours.” Inspired by our Kinder bird inquiry, the children are exploring colours, and our local birds.
Through this learning, children are building curiosity, respect for culture, and a deeper connection to the world around them.

This week, we celebrate National Families Week - Australia’s annual celebration recognising the vital role families play in our communities and society 🧡
The 2026 theme, “Every Family, Everywhere”, reminds us that every family is unique, bringing with them their own traditions, values, cultures and stories.
At Nido, we feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by such rich cultural diversity across our families and educators. Our early schools are vibrant communities, filled with different languages, backgrounds and experiences that enrich children’s learning and help promote a deep sense of belonging.
This week, we celebrate every family, everywhere - and the love, connection and community they bring to our Nido nest 🪺

Our kinder children are learning through an inquiry project about birds. Learning about the world around us helps children develop a lifelong appreciation for our natural environment and wildlife.
