Our Kindy Koalas have been busy getting ready for Mother’s Day 💐

Using markers, the children created beautiful portraits of their Mums. It’s been so lovely to see each child’s unique interpretation and the love behind every drawing. ❤️

Mark making is such an important part of early childhood development. Through using tools like markers, children strengthen their fine motor skills, build control needed for writing, and learn to express their ideas and emotions in creative ways. Every line and scribble helps build confidence and communication. ✏️🎨

We can’t wait for our Kindy Koalas to surprise their wonderful mums with these special creations this Mother’s Day 💕

Today our Baby Bilbies engaged in a beautiful rice sensory colour exploration inspired by ANZAC Day ❤️

Using vibrant red dyed rice to represent the poppy flower, the children explored texture, colour, and movement through their senses. Little hands scooped, poured, and discovered as we gently introduced the idea of remembrance in an age appropriate way.

As they worked alongside each other, the children also developed important social skills, learning to share space, observe their peers, and engage in parallel play.

Experiences like this support sensory development while helping children begin to understand meaningful community events.❤️
