National Reconciliation week ( 27th May- 3rd June)
This years National Reconciliation week theme, ALL IN encourages all Australianโs to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation in their everyday actions and relationships.
Throughout Reconciliation Week, the children at Buttercups Wandi were provided with meaningful opportunities to engage in experiences that fostered awareness, respect, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Children participated in a variety of activities, including collaborative group artworks, sensory experiences, story-time sessions, and learning discussions exploring meanings and significance of Aboriginal symbols.
These experiences supported children in developing an understanding of Australiaโs First Nations peoples, cultures, and histories, while promoting inclusivity, respect, and a sense of belonging within our learning community.

๐๐ผ Happy World Bee Day! ๐ผ๐
Today our little learners explored the wonderful world of bees through hands-on sensory play! From scooping and pouring in our bee-themed sensory bins to discovering how busy bees help our flowers grow, the children had a buzzing good time. ๐๐ค
Sensory play encourages curiosity, fine motor development, creativity, and imaginative learning โ all while having fun! We loved watching the children explore textures, colours, and nature-inspired activities together. ๐ธ๐ฏ
Bee kind, bee curious, and bee happy! ๐โจ

๐ฑ Nature Week at Buttercups Wandi ๐ฑ
What a wonderful time we had celebrating Nature Week! Our little learners had a great time exploring, creating and discovering though hands-on, nature-inspired activities ๐ผ
The weeks highlights:
- sensory trays filled with natural treasure likes leaves, bark, seeds, sand and fruit
๐
- creative painting using sticks, leaves and flowers as brushes ๐๏ธ
- squishy, imaginative play dough fun inspired by nature ๐บ
๐ Why Nature Week matters:
Engaging with nature supports childrenโs development in so many ways. It encourages curiosity and problem solving, while also building sensory awareness and fine motor skills. Time spent exploring natural materials helps children feel calm, connected and more mindful of the world around then.

Pom Pom Rescue! โ๏ธ
Our little learners in Tulip had a great time using tongs and tweezers to โrescueโ colourful pom poms from tricky spots!
This playful activity is more than just fun- itโs helping to build important skills for growing hands and minds!
Why fine motor activities matter:
- helps to strengthen hand and finger muscles needed for writing
- improve hand eye coordination
- support concentration and problem solving
-encourage independence in everyday tasks
Through hands on play like this, children are developing the foundations they need for future learning- all while having a blast ๐ฅ ๐๐
