GASSHUKU ! 2025

Cusco Perú is a city located in the Peruvian Andes at an altitude of 3,400 metres above sea level. TOKGF Peru, organized a South American Gashuku in 2018. Sensei Juichi Kokubo and all participants at Sacsayhuaman, an impressive Inca archaeological site located on the outskirts of Cusco Peru. Kokubo Sensei will be celebrating 60 years of training Goju Ryu in Okinawa at TOGKF Budosai 2025.

80 days until Budosai 2025. Kokubo Sensei was a uchi deshi of Higaonna Sensei and a certified instructor at the famous Yoyogi Dojo. According to very reliable sources Kokubo Sensei’s classes were fearsome. Budosai 2025 is your chance to meet and experience the teacings of this legend.

I met Sensei Sergio Cachay in 1982 at Universidad de Lima and we started training Goju Ryu with Sensei Juichi Kokubo almost at the same time. We are very good friends since then.

He called me yesterday for a quick chat and we ended up talking as always about Karate and the good old days when we use to compete and train for almost two hours almost every day.

Sensei Juichi Kokubo is celebrating 60 years of training Karate Goju Ryu this year and Sensei Sergio and myself are planning to celebrate it together in Okinawa.

Sensei Sergio sent me this picture yesterday that I think was taken after a full day competition. He is planning to take another photo similar to this one but a few years later celebrating a special occasion this time..

Sensei Juichi Kokubo continue the work he started 45 years ago in Lima Peru. Here with some of his students. Sensei Arturo, Sensei Oswaldo, Sensei Feliciano and Sensei Ken Ccapa among others.
