INSIDE THE 2026 SCEA MILESTONE AWARDS

We are privileged to honour those among our staff who reached a significant work milestone this year! It's wonderful to see the fruit of their faithful service across our schools.

We also honour Mr Andrew Mathews and Mrs Suzanne Mackenzie (Swan Christian College), Mrs Di Durham (Beechboro Christian School), Mrs Rosemary Tester and Mrs Janine Luzi (Mundaring Christian College), and Mrs Gaby Shere (Ellenbrook Christian College). These incredible staff members were unable to receive their Milestone Awards in person this year, but their contributions to their schools are truly invaluable.

CELEBRATING WORLD TEACHERS' DAY

A teacher’s impact often goes further than we think. A kind word, a spark of curiosity, or a moment of clarity can stick with someone long after class is over.

Last week, our schools celebrated the remarkable teaching staff who inspire, support, and empower our students to become lifelong learners.

Teachers across our schools were honoured with morning teas featuring delightful, sweet treats and received small gifts as a token of appreciation.
We thank all teachers for the incredible work they do.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

EA APPRECIATION WEEK ACROSS SCEA SCHOOLS

This week, we've celebrated the unsung heroes of education throughout our schools. We are blessed to have Education Assistants (EAs), who are the invaluable extra set of hands, eyes, and ears that help our teachers to perform at their best, while providing students with the care they need. We all have unique talents according to the grace that has been given to us.

"If one’s gift is prophecy, let him use it in proportion to his faith; if it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is giving, let him give generously; if it is leading, let him lead with diligence; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully." Romans 12:6-8

COMMISSIONING SHCC'S NEW PRINCIPAL

Yesterday, we took the opportunity to unite our school leaders from across the seven SCEA - Swan Christian Education Association schools and celebrate Mr Brett Costin as the new Principal for Southern Hills Christian College in Bedfordale.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Graeme Cross spoke to the local community about the mission of Christian schooling, and Mr Brett Costin responded by outlining the history of individuals who travelled to Australia, shared the Christian faith and enabled Christian schools to flourish across the country.

Mr Costin joins SCEA after successful international stints both internationally (Doha, Qatar) and nationally (Gympie, Queensland and Brisbane, Queensland).

LEADERSHIP SUMMIT 2025 🗻

Last month, we welcomed more than 100 of our leaders across our organisation to attend our very first Leadership Summit. This event was an opportunity for our leaders to connect with one another, participate in practical workshops and gain valuable insights from keynote speakers to inspire ongoing growth and impact across our schools. We can't wait to welcome back our leaders for the next Leadership Summit in January 2026.
