Bass music has a sameness problem and nobody wants to talk about it.
Go through the average producerâs SoundCloud and youâll hear someone who has clearly put in the hours. The mixes are fine. The sound design is competent. And youâd never pick their track out of a lineup if you didnât already know it was theirs.
Thatâs not a skill gap. Thatâs a risk gap.
Every one of those producers has taste. They know what they actually want to make. They just keep choosing the option thatâs safe enough that nobody can criticise it, and forgettable enough that nobody does.
Having a sound of your own means being willing to be disliked. Thatâs the whole trade. And most producers wonât make it, so they stay technically good and completely anonymous while the ones who picked a lane walk past them.
Your identity is the first thing we fix with our students. Once itâs sorted, marketing gets easy, because youâre marketing someone who already stands out.
If you want someone to look inside your actual project files and tell you where youâre playing it safe, comment below âCOHORTâ and weâll reach out!
