🌿 Year 2 Excursion – Rio Tinto Naturescape 🌿

Our Year 2 students recently enjoyed a fantastic day at Rio Tinto Naturescape in Kings Park! As part of the Noongar Boodjar Six Seasons Programme, they explored the season of Djeran while developing a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture and connection to Country.

Students enjoyed an engaging Aboriginal dance workshop, storytelling sessions, and a variety of hands-on activities including traditional practices, language games, and creative art using Aboriginal symbols. The day finished with time to explore the Naturescape playground.

It was a meaningful and memorable experience, with students returning to school full of excitement and new learning! 🌱✨

🎨 Year 4 Excursion to the Art Gallery of Western Australia 🖼️

On Thursday, 30 April, our Year 4 students and parent helpers enjoyed a wonderful excursion to the Art Gallery of Western Australia. As they explored the gallery, students eagerly posed thoughtful questions, shared insights, and connected their own experiences with the incredible artworks, guided by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic gallery volunteers.

The highlight for many was taking part in the creative process themselves! Using recycled and reclaimed materials, students (and some very creative adults!) designed outfits and proudly showcased them in a fun fashion parade, expressing their individual style and ideas. 👗✨

After lunch and time to explore the exhibits at their own pace, the group returned to School inspired, full of stories to share and with a newfound appreciation for the arts. A big thank you to our parent helpers and the wonderful AGWA volunteers for making the day such a memorable learning experience! 🙌🎭

🎉 Congratulations to Our Interschool Swimming Team! 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

What an incredible achievement! We are so proud to congratulate our Interschool Swimming Team on finishing 6th overall at the CPSSA Interschool Carnival last Friday — an outstanding result on their very first appearance at this competition. 👏

The team showed great determination, sportsmanship and school spirit, competing bravely against strong opposition and representing our school with pride. This debut performance is a fantastic foundation to build on, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for our swimmers.

Well done to all swimmers involved, and thank you to the staff and families who supported them on the day. 💙🏅�

🌺 ANZAC Day – Lest We Forget 🌺

Yesterday our school community gathered for a school‑based ANZAC service to mark this important occasion. It was a time of quiet reflection as we remembered and honoured the service, courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our nation, both past and present.

We were very proud of our students, who participated with great respect and maturity, helping to create a meaningful and reflective atmosphere.

Thank you to our staff who prepared and led the service with our students and to those families who were able to join us for this important act of remembrance.

🌿 Exciting News for Our School Community! 🌿

Construction has officially begun on updating and improving our senior nature play space! Over the coming days, the team will be working hard to create an enhanced space that supports imaginative play, connection with nature and active learning for our senior students.

If all goes to plan, we are hopeful the upgraded play space will be completed by the end of Week 2. During this time, there may be some temporary changes to access and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

We can not wait to share the finished space with you — it is going to be a wonderful addition to our school grounds! 🌳✨
