Kath Murdoch’s name is synonymous with Inquiry Learning – a field in which she has taught, researched and written about. Kath spent the afternoon with our early learning classes to further develop our Inquiry Learning approach.

The Pre-Kindy children were full of curiosity as they explored worms from their worm farm, while the Pre-Primary children were supported by Kath to reflect on and extend their own thinking. It was a fun, engaging afternoon of learning for everyone involved.

Kath Murdoch, Education Consultant, shares about our Inquiry Learning journey.

What a privilege it is to work with early career teachers as they develop their thinking and understanding of the beautiful dance of teaching and learning! Ahead of my learning lab with Bree, she talks me through the learning journey so far, using the documentation she and the children have created. She is not showing me ‘where we are up to’ on a planner or the ‘activity’ she wants me to do but,rather, what the children have revealed and how the journey of inquiry is actually unfolding. This means my session with the children is part of the journey - there is flow and connection. A journey of inquiry is not just a collection of ‘tasks’ - it grows and flows.

Celebrating 70 years at Queenies! A school collaborative Art project, welcoming visitors to our school office!

This week we join communities across Australia in recognising National Reconciliation Week - a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to reflect on how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

Invite friends to join our community! We love being a small school, and we would love to show them why - friends can book a visit, and we will show them around!

Making memories at our 70th Anniversary celebration ✨ From the beautiful First Nations artwork, to the special display that included the legacy of the Schoenstatt Sisters, and the message wall - the many shared stories and connections throughout the evening created a wonderful reflection of the Queenies community. 💙

Thank you to all the families, parishioners, staff and members of our community who joined us to celebrate our 70th anniversary. Together, you helped create a warm, welcoming and reflective evening that truly celebrated the strong community spirit we are so proud of here at Queenies.

We are excited for the continual construction of the community garden space. It is coming together nicely!
